Elliot Freedman: baritone guitar - Questar

"Questar" from My Song (ECM1115) is among my favourite of Keith Jarrett's composition (alongside "Rainbow", "Prism", and "So Tender"). My arrangement transposes the tune from Bb to A (F concert) on this C-scale baritone guitar (F concert) so as to make use of the open strings. The tune's well structured to build and release tension through its 3 parts. The tune might be more suited to my nylon-string baritone--but then might also work with this instrument (the 3 sounds heard are magnetic pickup, piezo pickup, and emulated acoustic from the piezos). There a mess-up on the (to me, excitement-filled) return to the head. Thanks for listening!

Elliot Freedman: Vince Guaraldi - Christmas Time Is Here (baritone guitar)

This, a more improvised 'take' on VG's gorgeous tune, tries to accentuate the 7#11 harmonies (the 2nd chord in both A & B sections, among others), which feel as though they are static, and, like temporary Tonics, do not 'lean' anywhere harmonically as Subdominant or Dominant harmonies do.
