John Fogerty: Reunites with His CCR Guitar For Las Vegas Residency

John Fogerty: Reunites with His CCR Guitar For Las Vegas Residency

Joins 25,000 fans in Mexico City for Juan Gabriel Memorial Celebration

Duet on Brad Paisley’s Upcoming Album – Due in April

Los Angeles (February 22, 2017) -- After nearly five decades apart, JOHN FOGERTY has reunited with his beloved ACME Guitar, a guitar he owned in the late 60’s and wrote such iconic songs as “Proud Mary,” “Fortunate Son” and “Born on the Bayou.” JOHN also played this special guitar on many legendary TV performances, including The Ed Sullivan Show, and it so happens to be the very instrument that he played at Woodstock. You will hear the story of JOHN’s reunion with this special guitar as he plays it live, for the first time in decades, during his intimate residency at The Wynn Theatre on March 3 –11 and again – May 19-28.

After finding the long-lost guitar under his Christmas tree, a present from his wife, Julie, FOGERTY immediately removed the Rickenbacker from its case. As JOHN told Rolling Stone, "I started playing the solo in 'Green River' and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck," he says, "It was exactly that sound, 100 percent. I dare say I haven't heard that sound since those days when I had the guitar."

Following two sold-out, critically-acclaimed residencies in 2016, JOHN FOGERTY returns to Las Vegas next month. FOGERTY is set to debut at the Wynn Hotel’s Encore Theatre for ten intimate performances; John Fogerty: Fortunate Son In Concert is produced by Julie Fogerty and directed by Ken Ehrlich and Raj Kapoor in association with AEG Live. Attendees will enjoy performances of iconic FOGERTY’s Creedence Clearwater Revival classics including “Fortunate Son,” “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” and “Up Around The Bend”, as well as solo hits such as “Centerfield, “Mystic Highway” and many more. FOGERTY also promises ‘special surprises’ for fans attending these new Residency shows!

This past weekend, on February 18th, JOHN was part of a special concert tribute to Juan Gabriel in Toluca, Mexico. At The Eternamente Juan Gabriel ... Vive la Experiencia in Toluca, JOHN joined 25,000 fans at Centro Dinamico Pegaso Toluca, just outside of Mexico City, performing a medley of his hits in addition to “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” as a duet with a hologram of Juan trading verses. Juan Gabriel loved FOGERTY’s songs and had recently covered this song on the bilingual album, Quiero Creedence, a Latin tribute to JOHN and CCR. Just before his passing, he and John had solidified plans to perform this duet together.

Expect to hear another duet with JOHN FOGERTY this spring when Brad Paisley releases his forthcoming album featuring the title-track, Love and War, co-written by the duo. FOGERTY is also working on new material for a new studio album, to come out in the near future.

John Fogerty: 1969 - more tour dates

1969 - The Year Fogerty Wrote & Recorded - For CCR - Three Seminal Albums

(Los Angeles) Beginning May 2nd, JOHN FOGERTY’s highly-anticipated world-wide “1969” tour will launch its U.S. dates with a special appearance, May 2nd, at the Beale Street Music Festival. Newly announced dates include stops in Hawaii, Baltimore, NY’s legendary Radio City Music Hall, Philly, Cleveland, Chicago, Seattle and Denver. Previously announced dates include May shows in North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida and a July 15th stop in Los Angeles at the iconic Hollywood Bowl. The U.S. portion of the “1969” tour is set to conclude on August 9th in Albuquerque. A few additional dates will still be announced.

And, coming October 6, 2015, from Little, Brown and Company, is the long-anticipated memoir by JOHN FOGERTY, titled FORTUNATE SON: My Life, My Music. With JOHN FOGERTYwriting hit after hit, Creedence Clearwater Revival burst on the music scene with an energy so bright, his songs outsold The Beatles in 1969. Then, just as quickly, that CCR fire burned out in a series of internal band struggles that left the music world without the influence of one of its brightest stars for over two decades.

“I’m excited to share my story and my life with you,” said Fogerty. “You’re going to hear where it all started, my passion to become the best musician I could be. You’ll travel down some rough roads, but that road leads to something beautiful. My book won’t be sugar coated! It’s all in there.”

Creedence Clearwater Revival is one of the most important and beloved bands in the history of Rock ‘n Roll, and the story that JOHN FOGERTY’s memoir tells will keep music lovers and avid readers captivated. FOGERTY wrote, sang, and produced the iconic classics "Born on the Bayou," "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," and so many more. Now he reveals how he brought CCR to the top of the charts and how, one year later, CCR was falling apart. Their amazing talents and culturally-prophetic songs, however, have endured for decades despite the series of personal and legal issues. FORTUNATE SON takes readers from FOGERTY’s Northern California roots, through Creedence's success, his retreat from music and public life, toFOGERTY’s hard-won revival as a solo artist who finally, through it all, found love.

JOHN FOGERTY was songwriter, lead singer, and lead guitarist for Creedence Clearwater Revival and is one of rock's most influential musicians and writers. FOGERTY has been named one of the 100 Greatest Singers and one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists by Rolling Stone and his most recent album was named one of RS's 10 Best Albums of 2013.

John Fogerty: Announces Additional "1969" U.S. Tour Dates

1969 - The Year Fogerty Wrote & Recorded - For CCR - Three Seminal Albums

Autobiography Set To Be Released This Fall

(Los Angeles)  JOHN FOGERTY’s highly-anticipated world-wide “1969” tour is pleased to announce additional U.S. dates.  Beginning May 2nd with a special appearance at the Beale Street Music Festival, the tour will continue to the east coast with stops in North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina before heading south to Florida with shows in St. Augustine, Tampa and W. Palm Beach.  FOGERTY’s “1969” continues throughout May, June and July with a previously announced show at the iconic Hollywood Bowl, scheduled for July 15th.    Additional summer dates will be announced shortly, with the U.S. portion of the “1969” tour set to conclude in August.

The “1969” World Tour began last November with a cross-country trek of Canada.  Seventeen shows in all, many of which sold-out, and the crowds were screaming for more.  Fogerty’s “1969” Tour was named one of the Top 20 Global Concert Tours of 2014 by Pollstar. Praise for FOGERTY’s delivery, as well as for his exceptionally talented band, came from the Hamilton Spectator, stating:  “… this band that Fogerty is fronting now is probably better than that little four-piece garage band known as Creedence Clearwater Revival.”

FOGERTY’s music, his lyrics and his voice, resounded through an amazing and never-duplicated release of three separate albums with Creedence Clearwater Revival (Bayou CountryGreen Riverand Willy and the Poor Boys). In that year – 1969 - FOGERTY gave the nation, even the world, an emotional and intellectual marker forever burned within our collective psyche. Now, in his 69th year, FOGERTY is calling us back, to re-invigorate those ties that bind us, with his upcoming “1969” World Tour

FOGERTY has also been hard at work on his first autobiography, which is now set for release this fall.

John Fogerty: will perform for the President and sets out on the 1969 tour in Canada!

JOHN FOGERTY TO PERFORM FOR THE PRESIDENT

“A SALUTE TO THE TROOPS: IN PERFORMANCE AT THE WHITE HOUSE” AIRS NOVEMBER 7TH

WORLD “1969” TOUR SET TO LAUNCH IN CANADA
COAST-TO-COAST Tour to start November 7th in Newfoundland

Tour Celebrates the Year Fogerty Released Three Seminal Albums

(Los Angeles, CA) It was announced today that John Fogerty, a Vietnam-era Veteran himself, will perform at the White House as part of a Veteran’s Day event for PBS.  “A Salute to the Troops: In Performance at the White House” will premiere Friday, November 7 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS stations nationwide, as part of the PBS Fall Arts Festival.

“A Salute to the Troops: In Performance at the White House” is a PBS music special from the South Lawn of the White House. President and Mrs. Obama will host the event on Thursday, November 6, 2014 in advance of Veterans Day and as part of The White House’s “Joining Forces” initiative, with an all-star tribute to the men and women who serve the United States. The concert, before a live audience including hundreds of members of the military, will feature performances by John Fogerty, Mary J. Blige, Common, Willie Nelson, Romeo Santos, and also active duty military members U.S. Army SGT. Christiana R. Ball, U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Matt Smith and Capt. John Ed Auer. Don Was will be the music director. The production is also working with the USO, for a performance by Daughtry via satellite from their USO concert at Yokota Air Base in Japan. Other notable attendees in the live-viewing audience are troops currently the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir in Virginia — both to be included in the White House concert and the broadcast. (Program subject to change.)

Fogerty will remain busy through the end of 2014 as his “1969” World Tour is also set to launch on November 7th in St. John’s Newfoundland and will include Cross-Country Canadian performances throughout the month with the conclusion in Victoria, BC on November 29th.  More dates and countries will be announced for 2015.

Fogerty performed this past weekend in Phoenix, AZ giving U.S. audiences a taste of what’s to come next year.  The reviews were nothing short of extraordinary with the Arizona Republic declaring, “The man is eternally youthful, still rocking the flannel...and wailing the high notes that define his vocal style.” With the Examiner adding, “If you could have harnessed the energy from the crowd as it erupted with the opening chords of “Proud Mary,” you could have supplied enough electricity to power the State Fair for its entire run.The night was Americana at its finest. There was baseball and singing down on the corner and reminiscing about Cajun Queens. It showed why John Fogerty is one of America’s greatest rock and roll song-writers. His music still remains a must listen to and his performances rank as a must see.”

John Fogerty is a true American original and one of rock ‘n roll’s all-time greatest artists. As leader of CCR, Fogerty forged a distinctive, groundbreaking sound all his own, equal parts blues, country, pop, rockabilly, R&B, swamp boogie, and Southern fried rock ‘n’ roll, all united by his uniquely evocative lyrical perspective.  Later, Fogerty would prove to be an equally impressive solo artist. Among its many highlights are 1975’s John Fogerty – featuring the rollicking ‘Rockin’ All Over The World’ – and 1985’s #1 phenomenon, Centerfield. With its trio of timeless hit singles, including ‘The Old Man Down The Road,’ ‘Rock And Roll Girls,’ and the irresistible title track, the multi-platinum collection marked Fogerty’s glorious return to the forefront of modern rock ‘n’ roll.

In 2013, Fogerty released Wrote a Song for Everyone, a testament to the fact that the songs written by John Fogerty over the past forty-five years continue to speak in a powerful way to generations of music makers and music lovers.  The album garnered rave critical reviews, including a coveted 5-star review in Rolling Stone.

The upcoming show will be centered around 1969, but also include his complete catalog of hits. Tickets are available now at johnfogerty.com and www.livenation.com. Complete Canadian tour listing below, more dates for 2015 to be announced soon.

John Fogerty: Tour Celebrates the Year Fogerty Released Three Seminal Albums

JOHN FOGERTY ANNOUNCES WORLD TOUR CELEBRATING ONE EXTRAORDINARY YEAR

“1969” TOUR TO LAUNCH IN CANADA

COAST-TO-COAST Tour to start November 7th in Newfoundland

Tour Celebrates the Year Fogerty Released Three Seminal Albums

(Los Angeles, CA) 1969. It has been over four decades since that moment in history. Still, with our memories washed by 40 years of time the milestones appear unmistakably before us. All at once, the nation stood tall, eyes skyward, as we sought to be part of Man’s grandest adventure; setting human feet upon the Moon. Those same feet danced across the trodden grass of a New York farm as the brightest voices in music played for the Woodstock crowds. Yet, even as we stood, our hearts sank as thousands of our young men died, fighting in a little-known strip of Asian jungle called Vietnam. Music legend and societal icon, John Fogerty, was there in 1969. Yet, he wasn’t just present, he permeated the age. Fogerty’s music, his lyrics and his voice, through an amazing and never-duplicated release of three separate albums with Creedence Clearwater Revival (Bayou Country, Green River, and Willy and the Poor Boys) in that one year, gave the nation, even the world, an emotional and intellectual marker forever burned within our collective psyche. Now, in his 69th year, Fogerty is calling us back to 1969, to re-invigorate those ties that bind us, with his upcoming “1969” World Tour.  The tour will kick-off this November with Cross-Country Canadian performances beginning in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on November 7 before heading west to finish in Victoria, BC on November 29th.  More dates and countries will be announced for 2015.

This tour celebrates the music and the events of 1969 as heard through the music of John Fogerty, writer and producer of those three classic albums. As part of CCR, Fogerty performed at Woodstock, they toured the nation and gave voice to millions of fans. Fogerty felt what was coming, he says, “I just took it all in, everyone knew we were at a pivotal moment, I took it all in and turned it into songs.” He had already established himself as a distinctive voice with the hit song “Suzie Q”, but like all artists, he feared the label; one-hit wonder. With more songs like “Proud Mary” Creedence Clearwater Revival was the #1 band in rock ‘n roll. 1969 came to life through “Born on the Bayou”, “Green River”, “Bad Moon Rising”, an ode to the timing of Man Walking on the Moon, and “Down on the Corner”. In one of his most influential and controversial numbers, Fogerty made his personal declaration on the Vietnam War known through “Fortunate Son”. Harkening back to the spirit of the Irish Draft Riots of the Civil War, his lyrics shoved the unfair practices of the modern draft process into the nation’s focus. Ironically, Fogerty was drafted and is a proud Vietnam-era veteran of the Army Reserve, yet his heartfelt opinions on that conflict and its impact are not swayed.

John Fogerty is a true American original and one of rock ‘n roll’s all-time greatest artists. Even at 8-years old, in his hometown of El Cerrito, California, he had a name for his ‘band’, “Johnny Corvette and the Corvettes.”  As leader of CCR, Fogerty forged a distinctive, groundbreaking sound all his own, equal parts blues, country, pop, rockabilly, R&B, swamp boogie, and Southern fried rock ‘n’ roll, all united by his uniquely evocative lyrical perspective.

1997’s Blue Moon Swamp earned Fogerty further acclamation, as well as a Grammy Award for ‘Best Rock Album.’ Among his many other honors are induction in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the BMI Pop Music Awards’ prestigious ‘BMI Icon,’ and Performance Magazine’s ‘Theater Tour of the Year’ Award. In addition, Fogerty and Centerfield were honored during the 2010 National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies – the first time the National Baseball Hall of Fame has immortalized a musician or song as part of the annual ceremonies.

Complete tour listing below.
