Just a quick demo of 2 Ibanez 7 string guitar from the actual 2020 line up.
1.) Ibanez RGD71ALMS-BAM
2.) Ibanez RG1127PBFX-CIF
The guitars were both recorded with a Mesa Boogie Roadster through a TwoNotes Torpedo Live.
Left side is channel 4 in Modern mode, right side is channel 3 in Modern mode. The additional high guitar part was channel 2 in Brit mode for both sides.
Both guitars were recorded with the exact same amp settings, no EQ qas used in post production.
Drums is Modern and Massive by GGD.

The discussion about faking videos by speeding up videos (be it pre-recorded or just speeding up in general) has made a huge runaround in the guitar scene lately. I'm not going into detail here, but if you see something suspicious on Instagram, Facebook or Youtube, you might just think about a few things and pay attention to a few things.
It's the movements of the hands, fingers, picking motion (arm movement) and position shifts, that start to look weird when speeding up.
I recorded a bit of noodling and sped it up from 100 to 105 to 110 to 115 to 120 percent of the original speed, see yourself and ask yourself if you've ever seen something like that before. If yes, the video got edited and sped up. never forget, when you play something slow compared to when you play the same thing fast (like really fast) your movements need to get smaller in order to keep up with the speed. Also things like vibrato sound weirdly fast. Just my 2 cents on the discussion.
How sped up videos look like - pay attention to the movements of both hands!

I just started transcribing the solo on "in the dead of night" by Allan Holdsworth. Sounds a bit different here and there, as I'm not using the whammy bar at all anymore nowadays, and I still have to figure out, what exactly he plays, when the fast Legato stuff starts (the part where I fuck up an end😁) And all guitar players remember, this was recorded in 78, and to me it's still a benchmark in tone and phrasing and sounds modern up to this day almost 40 years later!!!!
preview of the 1966 fender princeton profiles i did yesterday. get them at http://nicoschliemann.de/Kemper_Profi... along with some more (1959 Tremolux, Dr Z Wreck & Kendrick Champ 118)
just a quick demo of some sounds of the providence stampede OD i got recently. pretty lovely pedal and it also gets a bit fuzzy, when you start to crank the gain up;)
signal chain was my ibanez tm1702 into the providence OD, into my THC sunset, into my torpedo live and then going into logic for some reverb and delay. i did a lowcut at 100hz, no compression or post processing used here;)
feel free to share, comment or hit me up on facebook;)

Ibanez, Mesa & Two Notes Wall Of Sound 3 Teaser - Nico Schliemann
way to many notes in this one, so please forgive me, but i had to;)
amp is the mesa mark V, miced with a rode nt2a. rhythm sound was ch 3 mark 4 mode and lead is ch 3 extreme mode (fx were added in logic). i had an route 808 in front of the amp to get it a bit tighter. i'm usually not heavy recording guy, but i think it's ok, for what it is here;)
