News: guitar questions you were too afraid to ask

Rock House posted a useful post for all those people starting guitar... I'll let them explain:
Guitar terminology, now there's a topic that we all seem to know something about. But, I have found that sometimes people get confused about what a certain part is, or what it does. I've been told that there are 150 different parts that work in harmony to make up the typical guitar. There's no way we could discuss all the little intricacies but, I have found some descriptions of parts that are most common. The next time you are talking "shop" with your buddies or teacher, you will have a grasp on things.
find out all those cool words that you need to know, but were too afraid to ask.

News: comments back on the agenda!

I was talking with the other guitar bloggers about the number of comments people get back from blog posts.... I recalled that I don't get any... cleverly someone noted... not surprising really... your comment button is not available! LOL... well it is now... please feel free to comment or ask questions. NO SPAM!

Nicholas Scott: joins roadrunner band still remains

Nicholas Scott says:
Nick Scott, has joined a new band. Jordan Whelan, and Bone from the band "Still Remains" (Road Runner Records) have been on a desperate search for a great guitarist, and they've asked me to play in this soon to be touring band.

I've decided to do so! This band has and will be having members from such bands as Bullet For My Valentine and Darkest hour performing as well.

This does NOT mean The Nick Scott Band in any way is ending. The album will still be done, and performances will still be held as planned. This is whole situation is a new thing on my plate that I'm ready to CONQUER!

So, the reason I'm posting this is mainly this:

This band is searching for a vocalist!

If you or anybody you know is interested in being part of a TOURING BAND signed to a MAJOR LABEL, let me know. ;)

BLABBERMOUTH.NET has received word from a couple of different sources that 28-year-old Greek guitarist Gus G. Vinnie Moore: modern guitars interview

Vinnie Moore:
They always grow during the recording process but I have a studio at home, which is where I record, and I'll record the tunes to loops or drum patterns and with this record I totally finished most of the tracks at home and then the drums and bass were added after. There might have been about three songs where I actually played after the drums.

I'm very meticulous when I demo things. In the past I've laid down demos and they end up sounding just like the record and I'd have to go back and redo the whole thing again in the studio. Now that the technology has gotten better I can lay everything down at home and then just add the other instruments later which saves me from having to do the whole album over again. It's great to be able to capture the initial inspiration and get it down on tape instead of having to go back and redo it when the initial inspiration isn't there anymore.
