It does polyphonic pitch-shifting, with excellent fidelity - it's like adding a vibrato tailpiece to your guitar. Or bass, for that matter, as the virtuoso demo toward the end of the video demonstrates.

Tosin Abasi: Animals As Leaders NAMM Jam 2011

Next day the Band that literally tapped and dueled like some odd combo from the heyday of fusion rock. Animals as leaders?this band is taking up the torch and is running with the Return to Forever vibe. No vocals the fusion formula- todays version is harder= bass drum driven and could cause some fertility dance rights in some native tribes. The trio was joined by Mars Voltas Sax player for a spacey Al Dimeola on acid type jam that was so weird and cool that it made the hair on my arms stand up.Static pounding and crazy guitar runs

In this extraordinary book, the complete history of Guitar World is chronicled – from July 1980, when the very first issue, which featured Johnny Winter on its cover, took the guitar-playing community by storm, to issues from 2010 featuring the likes of Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Keith Richards, and many other guitar icons.

Ron Thal: Guitar International interview

Ron: Yeah, so with Guns what’ll happen is I’ll get a week’s notice. They’ll say, “All right. It’s happening. We’re FedExing your tickets.” The thing is, for the rest of the world, if you want to plan something, it’s months in advance.

What would happen is I would plan a tour for five months from now and by that point GNR would say, “All right. It’s time for us to do something,” and I would have to cancel. It just becomes impossible to make plans. All I can do is make very short-term plans that don’t require too much commitment and if I have to break them, it’s not gonna hurt a lot of people.

I’ve shied away from playing live and doing shows because of that, because if I have to cancel a show, it could disappoint hopefully only a few hundred people, okay maybe 100 [Both laughing]. If it’s just a meet-and-greet or something like that, it could be the same, but it’s not like they spent a lot of money and made a lot of plans.

It’s just not as big a thing to cancel. So, I’ve been doing more meet-and-greets and not doing any performances other than quick jams. Like I played in Sydney, Australia and jammed with Fozzy. I was supposed to do that tonight at Whiskey. We were gonna jam again, but I’m here

Khan Manuel: guitar international interview

Matt Warnock: You’ve recently started an endorsement deal with Ibanez. How did that deal come about, and why did you choose to work with Ibanez over other guitar companies such as Fender or Gibson?

Khan Manuel: I approached Ibanez a few years ago, but didn’t get a reply back from them. I think the reason was quite simple, in that I had only a few compositions and performing experiences under my belt. However, I continued to work harder and harder to achieve certain career goals, one being to compose enough material to record an album of all original songs.

By this time, I was fortunate enough to have write ups in various magazines and websites, from the album and concerts etc. I then gathered up everything I had and approached them with my expanded portfolio in hand. This time I was lucky enough to get a response, and the endorsement deal was worked out from there.

I’ve played Ibanez guitars most of my life, and have always regarded them as a top guitar company, so I was determined to endorse them and also to have them support me and my music.

Joe Bonamassa: Dust Bowl new CD details

Provogue Records is pleased to announce that world renowned guitarist Joe Bonamassa will release his 12th full-length solo album, DUST BOWL in the UK on Monday March 21st 2011 (US release is March 22nd). The album will coincide with Bonamassa’s forthcoming “Dust Bowl 2011 World Tour” that will take in cities across America, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia.
“I think Dust Bowl is the best album we’ve ever done,” says Bonamassa. “I’m finding more inspiration in storytelling in my 30s, in writing songs that are about something more profound than ‘my baby left me.’ I like albums that are made with the right intentions and sound organic and a little rough around the edges, like a great band playing live in the room.”
Dust Bowl is Joe Bonamassa’s sixth collaboration with producer Kevin “The Caveman” Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Black Crowes, Black Country Communion) and features collaborations with Nashville legends Vince Gill and John Hiatt, female vocalist Beth Hart, and Joe’s Black Country Communion band-mate, Glenn Hughes.

DUST BOWL is the follow-up to 2010’s Black Rock, which entered the Official UK Album Chart at #14, and the self-titled debut album from Black Country Communion, the Bonamassa-helmed, British-American rock supergroup featuring Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham and Derek Sherinian. BCC debuted at #1 on the UK Rock Album Chart and at #13 on the official UK Album Chart.
