David Valdes: Shred Guitar Exercise #1

Hello and welcome to my section SHRED GUITAR EXERCISES.

In this first example we will see, we will use strings 1 and 2, is an exercise in speed and accuracy so we have to start playing it slowly and precisely by looking good in how they pick the shots, we started with the technique of legato in the first three notes and then mix with the following three Picking, sliding to the next position as you see in the video. The tone in which we are doing this exercise is in A and as almost all will see we are using the classic scale of D. Let's work this exercise with the metronome and each day will increase the speed that exercise can until we get it fast and clean.

You can find more exercises like this, in my dvd's teaching:

Joe Bonamassa: On the Road to Vienna

"On the Road to Vienna" Bonus Features PART 2
Get FREE song download here: http://bit.ly/VegXFy

Hailed worldwide as one of the greatest guitar players of his generation, Joe Bonamassa has almost single-handedly redefined the blues-rock genre and brought it into the mainstream. He continues this role with his first-ever entirely acoustic concert, recorded at the venerable Vienna Opera House with a global ensemble put together by longtime creative partner Kevin Shirley. The 2CD/2DVD/Blu-ray, An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House, comes out March 26, 2013 on Bonamassa's label J&R Adventures.

Bonamassa -- a predominantly electric guitar player -- was ready for a complete departure from his usual projects. For years, he had been wowing audiences with his flagship acoustic song "Woke Up Dreaming," which has become an iconic staple of his world tour and a fan favorite. Building on the popularity of this song, Bonamassa and producer Shirley set out to design an entirely new and intimate "unplugged" concert experience

Matthias Young: Fender Standard Stratocaster to Yngwie Malmsteen Modification

Fender Standard Stratocaster to Yngwie Malmsteen Modification

Having a classical music background alongside my love for rock and metal, the influence of Yngwie Malmsteen has been significant in my development as a guitarist and composer. Not only is he one of the world’s greatest guitarists, but his sound is extremely unique. In the many genres of Metal, much of the guitar tone becomes very thin and over-compressed, even with heavy detuning. Not that there is anything “wrong” with that, but the vintage-style tone of a Fender Stratocaster allows for great dynamics and clarity.
In my quest for killer tone, I wanted something similar to the Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster (Model : 010711), but without the hefty price tag. Here’s what I did:

Daniele Gottardo: Little Matchgirl

Daniele Gottardo: Golden Gate pensivity

Daniele Gottardo: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/daniele-gottardo-second-cd-recording-project

Hello my friends!

Thank you again for your support.

These past weeks were very productive. I have just recorded the woodwinds for all of the songs of the album. Drums, bass, rhythm guitars, percussion instruments and strings are already done, as well as vocals.
We are now in the middle of recording the clarinet, English horn, contrabassoon, the piano and my electric lead guitar.

I want you to listen to one of the 10 tracks of my new album, it’s a short extract and only a demo of work in progress. Woodwinds are still “Virtual Instruments” and my guitar just the rough guiding tracks. Featuring Archimia String Quartet and soprano Kirsten Menn.

I am very excited about this project and cannot wait to share some other original tunes with you soon!
I appreciate all of you who have contributed so far and shared the project on Facebook and Twitter. Please keep on sharing with your friends!

Daniele Gottardo is currently recording the new second CD. Little Matchgirl will be on this second CD. Here is a demo version of the song that is currently being recorded in the studio.
Guests musicians: Archimia String Quartet and soprano Kirsten Menn.

Derryl Gabel: Dweezilla and news update.

Hi Guitar Friends,
Hope you all are having a great week. Just wanted to let you know that we still have some available spots at the Dweezilla Music Masters Camp and that there's still time to register.

The Dweezilla Music Masters Camp is the week of July 4th in Big Indian, New York. This camp is nestled in the Catskill mountains so the scenery is absolutely beautiful. Besides myself, Dweezil Zappa has hand selected some of the best and brightest guitarist in the world to teach there as well. This includes the amazing James Santiago, Tom Quayle, Oz Noy, Dave Walliman, and Chris Buono. I am very honored to be among this caliber of teachers and players. If you are interested in joining us for a fun filled guitar learning experience please go to DweezilZappaWorld.com to get more info and to register. Looking forward to meeting you all there.

On a side note Dweezil has asked all the instructors to hand in a tune for an album that will be released this year. We are about half way through the project. I'm very excited with the results so far. Each player will guest solo on the other's tune so this will be very interesting. Each tune is superbly crafted and will take you on an audio adventure ride! By the way I need to correct something I said in the previous email. I found out that the Dweezilla album will be released but not under the Favored Nations label. I apologize for the confusion on my part.

If there's any of you out there that are interested in helping sponsor the event or contributing toward a scholarship for students please let me know and I will put you in touch with Dweezil.

Thanks for your support and hope to see you all at Dweezilla.

Best regards,
Derryl Gabel
