Jeff Loomis: beyond precognition

Jeff Loomis will make a guest appearance on guitarist Marty Friedman's upcoming album, to be released in March 2008. Jeff was very pleased and honoured to be asked to appear on the CD by the Friedman himself, who happens to be one of Jeff's biggest influences.

Jeff Loomis took part in a clinic for Schecter Guitar Research on Friday, January 18 during this year's NAMM show (National Association of Music Merchants) at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Jeff played Nevemore solos and an instrumental from his upcoming solo album.

Jeff Loomis will be making several appearances during this year's NAMM show (National Association of Music Merchants), which runs from January 17 to January 20 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. His schedule is shaping up as follows:

Jeff will play NEVERMORE solos and an instrumental from his upcoming solo album at the Schecter clinics.

Important: The NAMM Show is **NOT** open to the public. The only attendees are NAMM member companies and their invited guests.

NEVERMORE is currently working on material for the follow-up to 2005's "This Godless Endeavor", tentatively due later in the year via Century Media Records.


11-11-2007:
Nevermore singer Warrel Dane got James Murphy and Jeff Loomis to play guest solos on his upcoming solo album, which is tentatively due in early 2008. Dane has written about eight tracks with former Soilwork guitarist Peter Wichers and has also collaborated with ex-HIMSA guitarist Matt Wicklund.

Background:
Jeff Loomis was born in 1971 in Appleton, Wisconsin. Jeff took up guitar at an early age and by the age of 16, Loomis had won the Wisconsin's Guitar Wars contest. Jeff then auditioned for Megadeth when Jeff Young left the band. Jeff is now the lead guitarist for Seattle's heavy metal band, Nevermore.

Jeff Loomis has recently been given a monthly column in Guitar World magazine entitled "Merchant of Menace" where he explains how to play the riffs and solos of Nevermore.

Influences include: Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, Jason Becker and Marty Friedman
