Background:
Marco Oliveira was born in Brazil and ahas over 15 years of professional experience bands in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. In 2000, 2001 and 2003 he won 1st place in the Cascavél Jazz Festival, in Paraná state of Brazil. In 2004, he performed at the third night of the "Joinville Jazz Festival", in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Marco has shared the stage other well known Brazilian players like: Kiko Loureiro, Sidnei Carvalho, Arthur Maia, Mozart Mello, Mauro Senise, Kiko Freitas, Victor Biglione and Hermeto Pascoal.
His player is rooted in jazz and this is reflected in his influences that include: Helio Delmiro, Pat Metheny, Jonh Scofield, Wes Montgomery, Arismar do Espirito Santo, Victor Biglione, Bill Frisel, Tom Jobim, Romero Lubambo, Miles Davis, Scott Henderson, Pat Martino and Hermeto Pascoal.
Currently Marco Oliveira works in production and arrangements for national bands and artists, as well as giving courses and workshops on Guitar and Harmony and Improvisation.
