Anton Tsygankov has reached the final of North American Rock Guitar Competition! See all the finalists.
The 2007 winner will be awarded a cash prize of $1,500 and a Les Paul Supreme valued at $4,718. The winner will also receive the Tommy Tedesco Award, The runner-up will receive $1,000 cash and a Les Paul Antique Classic valued at $3019. The third place winner will receive $500 cash and a Les Paul BFG valued at $1399.

Anton Tsygankov has been really busy lately. He is currently playing with Mama Mia musical live in Moscow and has played about 170 shows in the last 4 months! While not gigging he's rehearsing with his own band, with whom he hopes to perform soon. Anton has is a session musician on the heavily rotated MTV Russia with the band "Juice Big City"

Anton is also getting ready to record a CD which will feature a concerto for a electric guitar and a symphony orchestra. He is also working on a compilation CD featuring several amazing Russian guitarists set ror release in the second half of 2006.
Background:
Anton Tsygankov was born in 1980 in Moscow, Russia. Anton is the son of an accomplished composer, started to play music when he was 4. He finished music school as a pianist, and began to study acoustic guitar when he was 8. At the age of 14, he started playing electric guitar and studying vocals. In 1996 Anton entered Gnesin’s Musical College and in 2001 graduated as guitarist and singer. Antonhas graduated from the Modern Art University of Moscow in 2006.
Anton has been a nominee and prize winner in various competitions, here are just a sample:

1st prize at the international competition "Wind Rose", 2000
1st prize at the All-Russian competition "Guitar 2000",

Anton Tsygankov also has experience as a session musician playing with a number of pop bands.
