Frank goes all acoustic on me!! Natural High, The highly anticipated all-acoustic album from Mr. G. This album features reworked standards with Mr. G's own melodies and other new compositions. The album is a burning acoustic album and features Otmaro Ruiz on piano and Alain Caron on acoustic guitar bass and Mike Shapiro percussion on some tracks. There are no drums on the album but you don't even notice leaving the sound spectrum clear for the acoustic instruments to shine and blend. This is an absolute gem of an album.

CD only $18.99 when ordered from Frank direct

Top fusion player Richard Hallebeek has republished his great interview with Frank Gambale....a very good read.

Frank:
Well, Mark Varney was a nice guy but all record companies are the same. Cause they make a major share of the record. A typical artist royalty per cd is about 75 cts. That's not much. So manufacturing them myself and redistributing them, I sell them for about $8.00 to the distributor and they cost me about a dollar to reprint. So making seven or eight dollars an album is way better then making 75 cts. (laughs) And if I sell them direct on the internet, through my website, I make fifteen out of the sixteen dollars, you know.

Frank Gambale
Background:
I have been lucky enought to see Frank Gambale many times, from a seesion London Guitar Institute, Chic Corea and Vital Information. His musical knowledge and technique are amazing. Frank began was born in Canberra, Australia. He began playing guitar at age 7 and was influenced by Jimi Hendrix , John Mayall / Eric Clapton, and Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia.

In 1982 at 23, Frank Gambale went to Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) in Hollywood, graduating with the highest honor, Student of the Year and was offered a teaching position which he kept for 4 years. He became noted for his amazing sweep picking technique.

Lots of touring and gigs with band like Chic Corea and Vital Information followed. Later in 1996 Frank became Head of the Guitar Department for L.A. Music Academy.

Frank set up his own music label, Wombat Records, where you can now get his early Legato catalog and others.

Frank Gambale has also introduced a new Tuning, which is a totally different stringing of the instrument to create, as Frank puts it "a way to bring the guitar closer to the liberty that piano players have to play any chord no matter how close the notes are voiced".
