Home Grown Instructional DVD

This is no ordinary instructional DVD. You want an hour of scales at a million miles an hour? Nope. Seen it all before, right? Welcome to Homegrown - Reb invites you into his own home for over an hour of personal guitar insights, instruction and a healthy dose of humour!

We used a digital home video camera right in Reb's home studio to produce this DVD... there's no fancy editing,lighting or effects... just plain, raw GREAT information. Reb goes through his guitars, his vintage Marshall amps, his pedal board and his recording set up in great detail. Any playing? 2 original pieces created just for this DVD! Plus some live jamming with Reb's band and some ripping at home playing.

It is 13 years since the release of the critically acclaimed record "Pull". WINGER are now a five-piece band comprising of Kip Winger (on vocals and bass), Reb Beach (on guitar), Rod Morgenstein (on drums), John Roth (on guitar and keyboards) and the new addition, Cenk Eroglu (guitar and keyboards).

The new album, according to Kip Winger is “the result of my chemistry with Reb Beach”. "Songwriting and composition are the most important thing to me", continues Kip, “In my opinion good songs are a combination of life, experience and accident. On WINGER IV all of those things came together. Reb and I are more comfortable with each other now and our musical roles with respect to each other are more clearly defined”.



"IV" is definitely a career-defining album for the experienced musicians that created it. "This was a very magical record. I gave it everything I had, I thought of the overwhelming support I've had over the years by the die hard fans and really wanted to give them something worth listening to", says Winger.

The record has a very diverse feel: the aggression of tracks like "Right Up Ahead", "M16” or “Livin’ Just To Die”, the mystical elements "Disappear", the lyricism and sheer melodies of "Blue Suede Shoes", "On A Day Like Today" and the political elements of “Can’t Take It Back” and “Generica”. The album has something for everyone.

"Several songs on this record” reveals Kip, “were inspired by my experience performing at a few military bases, after meeting some of the men and women who are in the line of fire. I wrote songs like "Blue Suede Shoes", “Right Up Ahead” and “M16” as a way of giving something back to the soldiers who sacrifice themselves for the rest of us to live free"

WINGER's return album will be released on Frontiers Records on October 20th 2006.

Good news for UK fans: Winger headline the Firefest III show at Nottingham Rock City on October 28th 2006.

Reb is now working on the follow up to his "Masquerade" solo album, plus writing with Doug Pinnick of Kings X, and Kip Winger.

Background:
Richard Earl "Reb" Beach was raised in the steel-making town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His talents surfaced at an early age and could considered a musical prodigy being able to play piano and guitar at an early age without any formal training.

His earliest influences include: Joe Perry, Sammy Hagar, Ronnie Montrose and Steve Morse. Steve Morse and the Dixie Dregs in particular inspired Reb to focus on his playing and become the player he is today.

Reb did attend a couple of terms at Berkeley School of Music, but quit when he realised it was not for him. Instead he started recording fusion music and went on to win an Annual Best Guitarist contest as a result.

Reb then went to New York where he met bassist and frontman Kip Winger, forming the band Winger, producing a string of platinum records featuring six top-forty singles.

More recently, Reb was recruited to replace the departed George Lynch of Dokken resulting in the CD, "Erase the Slate".

Reb also performed in a Winger Reunion! with all members of Winger - Kip Winger, Reb, Rod Morgenstein, Paul Taylor and John Roth.

Reb was approached by David Coverdale to become a member of Whitesnake. This was followed by an extensive European Tour plus London's famous Hammersmith Apollo being filmed for a DVD release.
