Richard Daudé, one of my favourite players and an all round nice chap, has confirned the that the work on his upcoming CD is in progress. Richard is working with hiss bass buddy Franck Hermanny the pair are deep in thought and planning for an exciting instrumental projec that's been haunting their minds for almost 10 years!! The pair are putting their songs together with the help of two top quality drummers, Lionel Guillochon and Eric Lebailly from Adagio. There are some mp3 demo versions available on Richard Daudé's audio page.

Recorded in 2001 on the Line 6 stand with Nigel Clutterbuck on Bass and Greg Morgan on Drums (from the AOR band Dare (circa 1991)).

Nigel says:
Guitarist Richard Daudé was on stage doing his demo bit when he gave out a shout for myself and Greg to join him on stage. He said "can we do slingshot"? I said"you don't know it! You never played it before! He said it's cool, I've listened to you guys play it from backstage and it should be O:K!...I think he did a pREtTy good job!

Nigel notes that Richard was using a thimble on his right hand for the crazy effects!

Richard Daudé is alive and well but his magic cell phone has gone west! He's been rehearsing for a summer tour. This has put a crimp on his writing for his next studio release. The good news is Ricahrd is also working with long time friend Franck Hermanny from Adagio with a view to make an exciting CD, a heady cocktail of fusion and progressive metal. Background:
As if to highlight the third wave of fusion guitar, we see France rise to the fore once again. Not since Patrick Rondat, who is probably France's most well known guitar figure, has France had such a glut of new talent. Leading the way is Richard Daudé , Cyril Achard , Thomas Bressel and double heart project double team of Vincent Fabre and Franck Ribiere.

Richard Daudé came to my attention a couple of years ago when I was sent demo tape of this talented player. Since that time Richard has worked with the likes of Ron Thal aka bumblefoot recording a tribute to the late and great Shawn Lane for Lion Music and a track on "The Alchemists" for the mega impressive Liquid Note Records.

Ardent devotees of legato guitar who want to see his stunning techique in real time need to get hold of a copy of his video only Live in Rotterdam CD ROM.

Until then guitar fans will have to make do with a clip from his most awaited upcoming release and wade through a veritable blizzard of legato cool notes, "Final" [ram].

Be gentle with the home page of his web site if you use a Mozilla web browser.
