Background:
John Phil Wayne was born in West Kensington, London, England. He has had a career as a Jazz solo guitarist since 1961. He started at the age of 12 and at 17 he became professional musician, composer.

He wrote and performed film scores for MGM and Warner Tamerlane, with the Paris Opera Orchestra and British Symphonia Orchestra. He has aslo been a session musician and sideman for Count Basie, Tom Jones, David Bowie, Stephane Grappelli, John Lee Hooker.

His style enables him to simultaneously play and record in one go all aspects of a Jazz composition or standard melody, rhythm, chordal harmonies, bass lines, drums/ percussions on the Guitar without tapping.
