A raging post is happening right now on petrucci forum. Why? Well it's because someone else is pretending to be you... no I don't mean the Joe Stump Yngwie Malmsteen debate, but the impersonation of guitar players: This post is about Andy McKee:
As a result I did a bit of digging to find out this is more common that you would think.

A man called Kevin Eckenrod once impersonated Mark Tremonti in order to obtain free drinks at beach bars. He was arrested and released on bail.

About 2 and a half weeks ago, I got a message telling me that my music was being paraded around as someone else's work here on myspace. Someone named David Melycher.
So I went to David's page and found my song "For My Father" posted there but titled "Midnight Walk" by David Melycher. Wow that's a bit rude I thought. As I listened to the mp3, I couldn't help but notice that it wasn't even him playing. It was directly from my album "Art of Motion".
As a result I did a bit of digging to find out this is more common that you would think.
