Background:
Presently residing in Catania, Sicily, Gianfranco Fichera Cogliandro (G.F.C.) was born in Taormina, Sicily, on September 5TH , 1966 and passed his forming years between Messina and Giardini Naxos. After a long period of study with his friend and collaborator RENATO VILLARI, well-know and popular guitarist in Italy, G.F.C. broke into the musical scene of the peloritana area as lead guitarist of the Metal-Rock group “ HONE WORTE “.
Gianfranco Fichera Cogliandro went to the Berklee School of Music Studying classical guitar and above-all, his self-taught of Flamenco. He amassed techniques, Rhythms and sounds listening to the great Masters, producing his more complex pieces.
In the 90’s with the breaking-up of the “HONE WORTE”, he played with various groups, maturing experience in various musical fields that consolidated in what is today his musical style. After a tear on tour with the singer OLIVIA of SAN REMO fame, he participated in July 1996 in the album “UN DISCO PER L’ESTATE” . As a result of his continuous studies and accumulated experience, and after countless experiments, an original sound with shades of New-Age blended together with Classical and Rock in a harmonious mix that was accepted by the more refined audiences to the profane.
