Background:
Orest Dziatyk, also known as Hawk, grew up in Chicago. He started playing piano at age 8, clarinet at age 10(he also took 4 years of violin), began playing guitar at 18 and got into classical guitar a few years later.

Hawk attended G.I.T., Hollywood, CA. Then Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL, where he majored (earned BAs) in Classical Guitar and Music Theory and minored in piano and harpsichord. He also studied flamenco guitar with Paul Henry(who is a student of Andre Segovia), at Roosevelt.

He has studied and or played with Paul Gilbert, Bruce Bouillet, Tom Hess as featured player
and George Bellas. Hawk is currently a student of George Bellas and is featured on George Bellas Student Spotlight page.





A guitar lesson on Shred Academy.

He studied with world renowned pipe organist and harpsichordist David Schrader. Studied chapman stick with Frank Joliff and studied with Preston Reed.

Hawk is absorbed in his music and fuses rock with symphonic music and modern progressive elements through composition, orchestration and performance.

Over the last 25 years in Chicago he has gathered quite a local following in 3+ bands, playing original metal, shred, classical, neoclassical and flamenco. He has been playing with the band Septer and has CD's available for sale.

Hawk teaches guitar, bass and piano. Some techniques he teaches/plays are metal, neoclassical, traditional classical, flamenco and shred and his speciality or two handed tapping.

His musical influences/inspiration include - Stanley Jordan, Bach Vivaldi, Mozart, Stravinsky, List, Paginni, Schenker, Ule Roth, and Malmsteen.

Finally Hawk is working on a live project called ACS.
