Chris Brooks: getting the live band going

A news update from Chris Brooks, he says:

Hey!

I know I'm smack bang in the middle of writing an album but nonetheless I am getting itchy to go and play my new and old stuff live. To scratch that itch I've put together a band of the coolest musicians I know, who also happen to be three of my best friends. They are...

Peter McDonaugh - drums. Peter does a bajillion gigs a week with various artists and genres and has a resume of gigs that is only surpassed by the fact that he's a freak behind the kit with the touch and technique to suit just about anything.

Diem Brooks - bass. Besides the fact that he's my little brother, Diem is a very tasty and melodic bassist who tore up stages with me in Feeding the Addiction in 2005. His on-stage presence and beautiful tone and style are perfect for this band.

Steve Paoli - guitars. Steve has the unenviable task of having to duplicate many of my tedious little guitar parts and keyboard parts arranged for guitar, and make them fluid and full, not to mention following me chop-for-chop on some things. Watch out for him!

The guys are learning half a dozen songs now, and when we're smoking on those ones we'll get the rest of the set down and book some venues around Sydney.

Stay tuned!
