Rusty Cooley: bag of tricks smoothly over flows

News:
14-07-2008:
I, like many others, have enjoyed Rusty's recent guitar video, with guitar stylings more in a fusion vein. According to Rusty this track was played over a backing track from a fusion CD by Chris Amelar.

When asked a direct question by me:
I love this style of playing, very fluid, any chance there will be more of this sort of music coming out on CD or DVD?

Rusty says:
Thank you very much! There are many sides of my playing that the general public is not aware of. My friends, family and students all get to see it and I will certainly release more in the future. When I'm recording a CD I usually try to have it very focused For example with my instrumental CD I was trying to record the most intense instrumental cd that I could pushing the limit. And I also wanted to try to create a feeling in the listener that I got when I was listening to Malmsteen, Gilbert or Becker when I was a kid learning how to play you know that what the ?? or how the hell??? And with Outworld I'm in a band trying to write the best tunes I can and letting everyone do there thing in the context of the band and song it's not the Rusty Cooley show so to speak and my solo's are more dynamic as well. I am going to do another instrumental cd one of these days and this time around it will be more diverse. Outworld also has a CD's worth of material ready to go once we find the right singer. Just to satisfy I have been thinking of doing a couple more improv videos at home with some backing tracks kind of like the one that showed up on you tube.

Which is all good news if your fans of Rusty's intense guitar style. Plus, as mentioned previously, Rusty Cooley has just laid down a barrage of solos on Sean Baker's new CD. Rusty says:
I'm happy to announce I just recorded two solos for guitarist Sean Baker's new cd. The cd is being mixed and mastered by ex Racer X guitarist Bruce Bouillet. I'm not sure on a release date but I'll keep you informed. Check out Sean at www.theseanbakerorchestra.com or www.myspace.com/theseanbakerorchestra
