01-11-2008:

Kudos to Jenn over at metalchika for a more detailed post on the Racer X revival! Thanks to Jenn for the sterling work that's she put in to cover the recent Paul Gilbert tour. Please note anyone VIP's who want to tell their story contact Jenn via http://metalichicka.wordpress.com/

“I am happy to bring you some good news:
RACER X - LIVE!
Here are the details:
This coming January, Ibanez guitars is celebrating the 20th anniversary of my PGM guitar with a concert at the NAMM show.
Andy Timmons and his band will open the show, followed by a set from my solo band, followed by…
RACER X!!!
The venue is the Sheraton Park Ballroom.
Tickets will not be sold to the general public, but must be obtained through Ibanez guitars.
It is very exciting for me to be the featured artist for Ibanez this year, so I am glad that I can do something special for this concert. I can’t think of anything better than a killer set of RACER X!
The RACER X line-up will be Jeff Martin, Juan Alderete, Scott Travis, and myself.
I can’t wait to play some killer heavy metal with my favorite metal band!
Thank you,
Paul”

————————————————————————————

Unfortunately we “general public” have been informed that this concert is restricted to people who can already gain admission in to NAMM: you have to be an invited guest of a NAMM member, or be a music retailer with a NAMM membership to be able to attend.

More information:

The ballroom holds approx. 1400 people with a 1000 person banquet maximum.
The ballroom is right across the street from Disneyland in Anaheim.
Paul is not just appearing w/Racer X, but is also going to be doing a full set with his regular “solo” band. He is “pulling double duty” that night. What a treat.
There is no information on the exact date of the show although it is reported to be Jan. 17.
Becase this is in conjunction with NAMM, Paul will probably do some demos at NAMM itself. Please see the “rumor mill” page —-> for more information on what Paul might demo. :)
If you have the ability to get in to NAMM, please thoroughly document this rare event with videos and photos.
