Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan: london o2 review

Concert Review: Mr. Big, London (O2 Shepherds Bush Empire)

Got there for 7pm and the queue was already around the block. Good to see a sold out crowd and most surprisingly, a lot of younger fans. I can only guess that Paul Gilbert’s solo/guitar DVDs have snared a new generation like they did for us back in ‘86. Great to see it… clearly, there is a new generation of fans out there. The hard part is getting the little feckers to BUY the music!

Skin (support act – ed.)… OK, I detest the band, or I did! They played about 7 acoustic songs, all the one’s you expected. Myke G was uncanilly UN-cocky but looked happy to be there. Nev… well, you have to say… he still has a great voice. The guy must use the same anti-aging process as Eric (Shirley Bassy) Martin, as he looks barely a day older than he did back in ‘89/’90. Good performance; they wo

n the cowd and well… this band could have a reasonably big comeback if they deliver the right record.
