Saturday 6 March

Lunchtime Concert – Mike Dawes & Amy Turk £5, Travellers Studio, 1pm

Mike Dawes & Amy Turk are an acoustic guitar and concert harp duo from the South of England. This amazingly creative act produces a palette of intricately delicate sounds that have been stunning audiences nationwide.

Workshop with Frank Vignola £20, Elliott Hall, 2pm

Frank is one of the most accomplished, multi-dimensional players walking the planet today. Monster player, composer and improviser, Frank plays proficiently in every genre, from jazz to bluegrass, and works with everyone and their brother. This will be an ideal opportunity for guitarists of all standards to learn and ask questions from one of the best players in the world today. You may wish to bring your guitar and try out techniques or just come along and take notes.

Frank Vignola shatters the barriers between popular music and traditional jazz to create a powerful acoustic string music experience. Their amazing virtuosity mixes high-energy original material with unique renditions of contemporary tunes. Over the past forty years, Gordon Giltrap has graced the music business with his dedication to his craft and his affection for his audience. As one of the UK's most respected guitarists, he has consistently proved the adage that respect cannot be bought. It must be earned.

Concert - Tommy Emmanuel & Gordon Giltrap £22 / £20, Elliott Hall, 8pm

Gordon's music continues to evade categorisation, influenced as it is by the rock guitar of Hank Marvin and Pete Townshend, the folk guitar of Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, and the classical guitar of Julian Bream and John Williams. He has released 25 original studio albums, plus numerous live albums and compilations.

Guitar Shop Run by Broadway Music

The Guitar Shop will be open throughout the Festival stocking a wide range of Acoustic Guitars and accessories as well as offering expert advice.
