Background:

Renegade Creation is the new record by veteran musical giants, Michael Landau, Robben Ford, Jimmy Haslip and Gary Novak. Blending together to create a blues-driven sound that not only will satisfy their individual fans but is fresh enough to attract a legion of new fans as well. Delivering both rootsy, blues/rock vocal tunes and fiery instrumentals, the band draws on the unique guitar interplay between guitar giants Robben Ford and Michael Landau who inspire each other to new personal bests.
“Renegade Creations” is a guitar tour de force riding rhythmic foundation laid down by one of rock's finest rhythm sections, bassist Jimmy Haslip and drummer Gary Novak.

Blues Bureau's mission has been to place highly talented, yet diverse players in the studio, and let the tapes roll. Blues Bureau's first new recording in 2010 continues to follow that tradition of the "Super Session"!. Renegade Creation is a collaboration between renowned guitarists Robben Ford and Michael Landau, drummer Gary Novak and bassist Jimmy Haslip. Renegade Creation brings to mind the essence of classic Blues Rock crossed with the adventurous sophistication of fusion, yet the music leaves room for each player's phenomenal abilities to shine. Although, brimming with fantastic solos, this record is more than a mere vehicle for fantastic soloing, as the compositions are important, well arranged pieces of music that exhibit a synergy rarely heard in today's music. It is apparent that with eight vocal tunes, four sung by Ford and four sung by Landau, and two scorching instrumental tracks, once this CD enters their fan's CD players it won't be coming out for a long time.

Michael Landau is a renowned session guitarist and artist who
has played on albums since the early 1980s, notable artists include:
Miles Davis, Amy Holland, Michael Jackson, Richard Marx, Joni Mitchell, Steve Perry, Seal, James Taylor, legendary singer Laura Branigan and many others.

Legendary guitarist, Robben Ford, began his recording career in the '70's with the Charles Ford Band, a blues band with his brothers. As Robben progressed more as a player he delved deeper into Jazz, joining Tom Scott's in 1974. Through the years Ford has been busy as a sideman and a solo artist and has worked with George Harrison, Joni Mitchell, the Yellowjackets, Miles Davis, Gregg Allman, and Phil Lesh to name a few. As a solo artist, Robben has released many records which include the highly touted “Tiger Walk” record.

Jimmy Haslip is an in demand bassist and record producer, known by many fusion fans as a founding and current member of the pioneering fusion group, “Yellowjackets.” He is known to many as one of the first high profile players to routinely use a 5-string electric bass. Haslip has also worked with many notable artists, including Tommy Bolin, Marty Friedman, Bruce Hornsby, Gino Vannelli, Tommy Bolin, Allan Holdsworth, Chaka Khan, Donald Fagen and Anita Baker. He continues to be one of the most in demand working bassists in the industry.

Gary Novak was born into a musical household and began drumming at age eight. After years of studying and working as a drummer he landed a gig with George Benson and subsequently joined Chick Corea's band. He has also toured with other great musicians, such as Bob Berg and Allan Holdsworth. In 1998 he joined Canadian pop star Alanis Morissette's band, recording and touring with her for over a year.

Selling Points:

< Michael Landau, Robben Ford, Jimmy Haslip and Gary Novak each have achieved legendary status in the industry and this is the first collaboration between then. < Each of the four artists on this compilation has their own fanbase and the combined following of these players constitutes a legion that will be very receptive to the Landau/Ford riveting guitar tour de force. < in January of 2010, the band embarked on a small tour including over seven shows in the San Francisco bay area and the response to the band is extremely. Wherever they played audiences were spellbound from the incredible guitar interplay between Robben Ford and Michael Landau. < As most buyers of guitar oriented music are also guitarists, this CD would be a great jam along CD for guitarists wishing to polish up their chops.
