Michael Angelo Batio: forum web url moving

I wanted to officially alert you that we are changing the url address for the MAB forum. Next week, on Sunday, September 14th, we will be changing from deb13.proboards.com to mabforum.proboards com. We are doing this as proboards recently added the ability to change the url of a forum and we feel that ‘mabforum’ … better represents our forum and will be easier to remember than ‘deb13’ is.

Below is a FAQ on the url change:

Other than the change in website address (url), is anything else changing? No.

Will I lose my account, post count, posts? No, no & no.

Why is the url changing? To better brand the forum and make it easier to remember.

Why not make it mab.proboards.com or angelo.proboards.com? Both of those url are currently taken and unavailable.

Once the change happens, how long will the old url redirect me to the forum? One week (7 days). After that, you will need to use the new web address.

Why not move the whole forum to XXX forum hosting company or host it on angelo.com? Proboards had been very good to us and we are very happy with them. We do not want to lose the current posts or have to have members re-register.

I don’t use a bookmark, I use xxx websites link or Google/Yahoo/Bing/other search engine. Will it be updated? The search engines will take a week or two, but will fix themselves automatically. In addition, the link on angelo.com and deanguitars.com will be revised once the change happens. We suggest you bookmark the new address, or write down the new url so you don’t forget it.

Is there anything I can do to help? If you have links to the MAB forum either on a website, MySpace, Facebook or in any forum signature lines you have. If you could change it to the new location once we alert you that the change has happened that would be very much appreciated.
