Nothing too fancy in this video. Just a straight forward recording.
I had been in a HUGE writing slump and didn't even play guitar for days at a time (which is very rare for me). I think I even went over a week without touching a guitar!
I had a lot of awesome riffs, but I was really trying to force myself to write on a 6 string, in drop C. So after a month of sitting on these riffs with no progress I said "Fuck it!" and picked up my Loomis and immediately the song just fell into place. Was really weird.
So here it is. It ended up having a REALLY strong Nevermore/Loomis vibe to it after adding the drums. I don't think I've ever written a song in straight triplets before, so maybe that's why.
The solos were improvised on the spot and were played through once. I think they ended up sounding pretty awesome so I kept them. The only part I had to re-record was the final string skipping section of the final solo.
Ok, far too much typing now. I'll just say that the song title came from some misheard lyrics from a song i can't remember anymore. But I remembered that is was hilarious, so I named this song after it.
