Guitar virtuoso Stanley Jordan will release a new album chock full of collaborations through Mack Avenue records on September 27. Aptly titled Friends, it will feature some of the biggest names in contemporary jazz, including guitarists Charlie Hunter, Mike Stern, Bucky Pizzarelli and Russell Malone, bassists Christian McBride and Charnett Moffett, saxophonists Kenny Garrett and Ronnie Laws, trumpeter Nicholas Payton, violinist Regina Carter and drummer Kenwood Dennard. Friends will also cover a number of different styles that range from a classical Béla Bartók piece to a Katy Perry pop hit with, of course, plenty of heady jazz and blues tunes in between
