Gene Baker: talks about Ronnie Montrose tribute

Gene Baker, world renown guitar builder and leader of his band dubbed MGB a.k.a. Mean Gene Band. In this interview Gene talks about his relationship with the legendary guitarist Ronnie Montrose shortly after he passed away 3/3/2012. He talks about how he met Ronnie while working for the Gibson West Custom Shop, then again while Gene worked at the Fender Custom Shop where he built the infamous guitar Ronnie called "Skinny", then under the Baker name he built "The Beast" a B1 model as well as "Red" and "Silver" both Junior models.
He also shares insights on his involvement with a special Ronnie Montrose Tribute Concert as a Celebration of his life in Music to be held at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco CA on 4/27/2012 with a massive list of guest artists. Gene is asked to perform one song playing Ronnie's guitar and amp as well as having his MGB band be the house band for a special VIP after hours concert and all-star jam. The main show will later be aired on VH1 and a DVD available later in the year. This will prove to be an important night to remember in rock-n-roll history.
