Students should have a reasonably solid working knowledge of scales, arpeggios and chords. Reading music is helpful but not essential. Topics covered include a new look at pentatonics, rhythmic and thematic development, analysis of chord progressions, modal improvisation, creative expression and much more. One of our most popular instructors, Jon Finn, is uniquely qualified to teach this. He’s spent most of his professional life divided equally between performing and teaching. His approach is heavily influenced by his experiences working closely with masters such as Guthrie Govan, Steve Morse, John Petrucci, Dave Larue, Carl Verheyen, John Williams, Tom Morello and many others. Guitar phenom, Guthrie Govan will spend two days with students in this course.
