Ron Thal: Bumblefoot - Humanitarian Water & Food Award WAF JAM 2014, Copenhagen

The lead guitarist from the Guns N Roses, will take time out from an eagerly anticipated tour with the band to fly around the world and perform for free at a venue in Copenhagen – what is his motivation?

The first edition of the WAF Jam promises to be a musical showcase unlike any other - well-known local bands and international stars will perform on the same stage in support of a common vision: water and food for all.

Headlining the WAF JAM 2014 will be WAF ambassador Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, the lead guitarist from the Guns N Roses. Ron Bumblefoot will fly in directly from Las Angeles where it has just been announced that he will appear with the GN’R at this year’s Revolver Golden Gods Award before he begins a tour with the band later this year.

Joining him on stage are three world-class Swedish Metal performers, guitar-master Marcus Jidell (Evergrey/Avatarium) - who has recently released his debut instrumental album - vocalist Jennie-Ann Smith (Avatarium) and Matti Alfonzetti (Alfonzetti): think Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Kiss and Black Sabbath!

On the home front we have local bands Nosy Parker, who will be fresh from a performance at Lille Vega on the 24th of March, and Scots On ICE, who will rock your socks off!

We are also proud to announce that Italian composer and pianist, Mauro Patricelli, following the success of his video opera “Syng for Fremtiden, Ingeborg”, which enjoyed great success at Københavns Musikteater last winter, will present his critically acclaimed “Works for drums and piano” with Chano Olskaer. Also on board is Opera star Louise Fribo, Russian classical pianist Tanja Zapolski, Miriam Mandapiri a regular on the Danish soul/blues scene and many other artists in the works.

The WAF JAM 2014 promises to create a festival-like atmosphere for one very special day this spring. It is a chance for everyone in attendance to celebrate and help to raise awareness about a very worthy cause.

The funds raised from the event will go directly towards increasing the amount of exposure available for sustainable food and water initiatives in some of the world’s poorest regions.
