Michael Dolce: Funk Fusion Masterclass details announced for Australia

Its been a while since my last newsletter hope you’ve all been well.

I’ve just finished season 5 The Voice Australia and once again it was a pleasure being involved.

I wanted to let you know about a couple masterclasses that are coming up.

The first one will be held in Sydney at Cilia Guitars on the 1st August .(2 seats remaining)

The 2nd will be held in Melbourne on the 8th August (4 seats remaining venue to be confirmed)

“These classes are purely based on my approach, concepts, techniques and conclusions which have worked for me over the years and still do to this day. I’ve always loved this approach and style of playing.

Funk Fusion is such a great way to learn the fusion / jazzy approach without having to get too involved with theory. I wish that someone could’ve explained it to me in this form when I started getting into the style, it would’ve saved me a lot of time. Everyone who attends a class can expect lots of jamming and tons of examples on the night. Each person will also get to take home the handout booklet and CD which contains a variety of backing tracks as well as all of the audio examples covered on the night.

* Creating your own voice using major / minor modes
* Using arpeggios
* Motifs
* Melodic minor approach
* Whole tone and outside approach
* Augmented ideas
* Chromatic lines
* Wide pentatonic ideas
* Legato lines

These topics will be covered in the most simplistic way, but with a very effective outcome. This is aimed at intermediate to advanced players who would like to increase the vocabulary of sounds within their playing style.

* Each class runs for 2 hours
* Players need to bring their own guitar, amps will be supplied by the venue
* Cost is $80 per person
