Prashant Aswani: James Tyler Studio Elite HD-P - Winter NAMM 2018 • SN: 18017

This James Tyler may sport a Rasta Shmear paint job, but it's definitely a rocker at heart! Why? Because it has punchy mids for days! The bridge pickup is pure Angus Young, and the Wildwood staff guarantees that it will have you doing you doing windmill strums until the cows come home. The single-coils in the neck and bridge convey more of an SRV vibe thanks to their woody low-mids and their strident upper-mids. The single-coil in the neck is thick enough to scare some humbuckers, but it remains incredibly articulate and clear! I had a blast layering on the gain and playing dirty rhythm parts with it. The middle pickup has more upper-midrange quack and treble bite, and it was a pleasure to play searing blues leads on it. Its remarkable clarity also makes it a great complement in positions 2 and 4! Anyone seeking a James Tyler that will induce windmills and duckwalks and all sorts of other fun rock and roll guitar moves will love this serial!
