Chris Brooks: C Major Shred Combo - Hannibal's happy chops!
A quickie from yesterday's practice session. For these kinds of runs that begin with an odd number of notes on one string and even numbers on other strings, I begin with an upstroke so that I can remain in a downward picking orientation and begin each new string with a downstroke.
It can feel unusual at first but you just have to imagine that you are already halfway through a set of 6 notes. Your hand already knows how to do this motion (like it would for pickup notes before a bar) but you just have to get your head around where the pick strokes fall.
