The Resonance Project - Neo Thangka All Star Guitar Jam Video
L.A.-based progressive metal band The Resonance Project invited guitarists Mateus Asato, Jack Gardiner, Colin Cook, Felix Martin, Joshua De La Victoria, and Allen Hinds to jam on their song Neo Thangka.
Neo Thangka is a song from The Resonance Project self-titled album. In the original recording, the band members’ long time friend Mateus Asato played a solo and trading solo with band’s guitarist/ bassist Yas Nomura. In celebration of the album releases 1st year anniversary, The Resonance Project made a jam track from the guitar solo section and created this all-star collaboration with some of their favorite guitarists, including Yas’ mentor Allen Hinds.
About the band:
The Resonance Project is composed of guitarist/bassist Yas Nomura and drummer Lang Zhao. Their first self-titled album was released in June 2019, and it “quickly received praise from prog icons like Haken and Matt Garstka in addition to being covered by Prog Magazine and other media, becoming one of the most talked about prog albums of the year.” (drumheadmag.com, 2/13/2020)
About the video production:
After Yas and Lang received solo clips from all the guest guitarists, they arranged the orders based on each one’s beginning and ending notes, groove, and energy level to make sure it flows smoothly as a whole tune. Then Lang recorded drums on it. Mixing and mastering were done by Lang.
