Ever had a piece of gear that helped you overcome a creative block?
I named this track "Complex Messiah" for shits and giggles and just to put the "Messiah" in the title, as this guitar from BMC is the "Messiah" model and I could not have written this song without it!
I was under a heavy creative block when BMC sent me this beauty for a test drive. I was asked to make a short demo video, 1 or 2 riffs at most. I had 1 week to compose record everything as the guitar had to go back to it's lucky owner.
Well... I ended up making an entire track, almost in one go. Never had i experienced such a focused flow of creativity before. And although it is a top tier instrument in every aspect, I was deeply inspired by the aesthetics of it. Sometimes i feel so caught up on nerding about the technical specs that i miss the damn point. We are artists, creatures that get inspired by all kinds of right brain things.
I instantly had an emotional connection with the instrument. Also that color made my synesthesia go crazy. It really has set the mood for the riffs, the rhythm concepts and even the synths i used. This guitar is truly a gem.
