Clint Strong, Allan Holdsworth, Eric Keyes: This is how legends play guitar

I thought it would be time to post this video of Clint
opening for Allan Holdsworth. This was a dream I had in mind
because besides Allan and Clint are my 2 favorite guitarists
on the planet I was good friends with both so I was pretty sure
I could pull it off. Clint didn’t want to do it at first because well

what guitarist would want to “open for Allan Holdsworth” it’s an
intimidating task no matter who you are. I explained to Clint
that I had played Allan some recordings of Clint and he liked
It. Allan also liked to have openers that had a completely different style and Clint being
Bebop I just knew it would work and it did.

I called Dan Mojica at Dan’s Silver Leaf in Denton, secured the
date and we did it. It was sold out and another great memory is
I was helping my friend master Japanese chef Keiichi Nagano
open “Keiichi” in Denton and he cooked for them and Clint, I
Allan, Jimmy and Chad were the first guest at the private table
of our new restaurant. Allan ate everything in sight and even drank the broth of the clam soup
it was so good. I wish I would have taped the dinner party. It was fun as hell and so many stories came up.

I can’t believe this was 19 years ago in 2006 and Keiichi has been open for 20 years now.
Where does the time go?

Enjoy and share.

Cheers
