Concept album
Crypta’s upcoming third studio album is centered around the conceptual theme of "Madness" and psychiatric hospitals. Vocalist and bassist Fernanda Lira has revealed that she spent months conducting intensive research for the project, reading five different books to meticulously craft the album's concept, specific characters, and dark overarching storyline.Key Details of the New ConceptA "100% Conceptual" Record: Unlike Shades of Sorrow, which was a broader "semi-concept" album about personal trauma and the various shades of human suffering, this third record will feature a fully synchronized story tracking specific characters through an asylum environment.
The Lyrics: Frontwoman Fernanda Lira has taken full responsibility for writing 100% of the lyrics herself, drawing heavy inspiration from the medical, psychological, and historical texts she researched.
The Musical Direction: The band aims to mirror this chaotic theme by evolving their sound. Fernanda teased that the new music will somehow be "more melodic, yet still more brutal" than anything they have released before.
Production & Release TimelineSongwriting Status: The band finalized the core structures for nine original tracks in early 2026 and is currently polishing guitar solos and vocal arrangements. [, 2]
Recording Schedule: Crypta is scheduled to officially enter the studio in September 2026 immediately following their European festival circuit. Because of their hectic touring schedule, recording may be completed in distinct phases.
Release Target: The album is projected to hit shelves via Napalm Records between late 2026 and early 2027
