Biography
Deborah Gama (born 1996 in Brasília, Brazil) is an internationally acclaimed bassist, composer, and musical prodigy. Her musical journey began at age 11 in 2007 when she studied the transversal flute before shifting her focus entirely to the electric bass in 2009. Cultivating an exceptionally advanced command of extended-range instruments, she became the first woman to master and spearhead a unique playing technique on the 7-string bass.
Gama's foundational years in Brazil included playing in prominent institutional and local groups such as the Big Band UnB, Super Band, and Feelings Band. As her reputation for lightning-fast groove execution, harmonic innovation, and pristine tone spread globally, she became an elite session player with Studiowest and a touring bassist for international entertainment productions. Influenced by legends like Marcus Miller, Dirty Loops, and Fernando Molinari, she has collaborated extensively through Ralo Music Productions alongside world-renowned rhythm icons such as Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Luis Huerta, and Rafael Lopez.
