Extensive Biography
Jordan Ziff (born in Scottsdale, Arizona) emerged as a prodigious young talent in the American hard rock and heavy metal underground. Showing an early obsession with the instrument, Ziff wrote and recorded his debut studio album at just 14 years old with his teenage heavy metal band, Age of Evil. The band caught the attention of a German record label, leading to international releases and European tours while Ziff was still finishing high school. Notably, guitar icon Marty Friedman contributed a guest guitar solo to the title track of Age of Evil's 2007 debut album, Living a Sick Dream.
Following his years with Age of Evil, Ziff became a fixture of the Arizona heavy music scene, performing with local metal and hard rock acts including Razer and the arena-rock cover outfit Metalhead, while also establishing himself as a sought-after session and hired-gun player. A major career breakthrough arrived in 2014 when Marty Friedman recruited Ziff to serve as the lead guitarist for his international solo touring band, taking Ziff across global stages for years.
In 2018, Ziff reached another milestone when he officially joined the multi-platinum glam metal icons Ratt as their lead guitarist, injecting fresh energy into the band's live performances and carrying forward the legacy of classic guitarists like Warren DeMartini. Alongside his high-profile work with Ratt and Friedman, Ziff has maintained a diverse career as a session contributor on various side projects—such as Veronica "The V" Freeman's solo release and Queensrÿche frontman Todd La Torre's solo work—while developing material for his own solo artist projects.
