Extensive Biography

Luke Fortini (born Luca Fortini on March 4, 1977, in Mirandola, Italy) discovered his calling in adolescence after being captivated by Guns N' Roses (specifically Slash) and Iron Maiden's Live After Death. Starting with a makeshift, DIY guitar built from a wooden plank and iron wires, he quickly transitioned to real instruments and threw himself into rigorous study, blending influences from classic heavy metal icons (Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani) with classical composers like Bach and Paganini.

Fortini's professional career expanded significantly when he was selected as the touring lead guitarist for Paul Di'Anno (the original singer of Iron Maiden), completing an intensive 3-year European tour from 2002 to 2005. Alongside his high-profile touring background, Fortini became a prominent fixture in the Italian extreme and power metal underground, recording celebrated albums with metal acts like Hyperion (Dangerous Days, Into The Maelstrom) and joining the epic power metal outfit Imago Imperii as a principal guitarist and songwriter.

In addition to his band output, Fortini has cultivated a prolific solo career focused primarily on advanced instrumental guitar music. Releasing acclaimed independent and label-backed records through prominent progressive outlets like Lion Music and Casket Music, he is widely respected for blending high-velocity sweep-picking, complex odd-meter progressive structures, and refined neoclassical compositions.
