Laurie Monk: I have been a fan of Roy since hearing his release Widowmakers Highway. That album immediately highlighted his unusual picking style and absolute command of the instrument—it's genuinely head-turning. I also know firsthand how hard Roy has worked outside of music just to keep the show on the road over the years. I first met him in person at the Jason Becker "Not Dead Yet" festival in the Netherlands, and I've since attended his live concerts and the Law of Three album launch show.

Having witnessed him up close, I can firmly vouch that he is a genuine tour de force. Critics like Jacobra really need to step out of their bedroom studios and see this guy perform live before attempting to critique his abilities or make sweeping claims on the subject.
