Biography & Career

Born in 1981 in Zagreb and raised in Banja Luka, Igor Paspalj is a Bosnian-Croatian guitarist, composer, academic educator, and session musician. Recognized as a prodigy in music theory and classical composition, he completed a four-year curriculum at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka in just three years with the highest average marks in the institution's history, later obtaining a Master's degree in Music Theory and Harmony with Analysis.

Combining rigorous academic training with a deep obsession for 1980s and 1990s instrumental rock virtuosos, Paspalj became an international sensation when he was named "Electric Guitarist of the Year 2020" by Guitar World and Guitar Player magazines. Renowned for his incendiary speed, laser-tight picking accuracy, and rich modal phrasing, he has served as a senior masterclass instructor for JTC Guitar, clinic demonstrator for brands like NUX and Wilkinson, and a prolific solo artist.
