Background:
Art Rodríguez was born in Úbeda,a small town of Andalousia, Spain, in 1982. He started guitar at the age of 6 with his father who is a classical guitar instructor. Then from 7 he studied classical guitar, theory, harmony at a music conservatory. He started playing electric guitar at the age of 14. He became inspired to playing more by listening to Joe Satriani at the age of 17.
His influences include: Paul Gilbert, Kilo Loureiro, John Petrucci, Andy Timmons, Richie Kotzen and Michael Romeo.
At 19 he became the lead guitarist in the Spanish heavy metal band Ánima Sola. recording a demo and CD called "Luna de Argel" in 2004.
In 2006, he split from Ánima Sola (mp3) and started a new project called 742 with Jean-Do Leonelli. 742 is one of a new breed of cyber bands with Art, a resident of Spain, and Jean-Do, a resident of Corsica, creating their music by messenger,web cam and phone. The first song of the new band, "Never enough", was voted to feature on the second CD of the www.guitarristas.info.
He is currently working as an electric guitar instructor at Planet Music in Albacete, Spain. He is also a guitarist in the Orchestra Bahía with Fran Heredia, a session guitarist and the ex-guitarist of Manolo García. Art is also working on a new prog metal band called Evolve, with a demo in in 2007.
