Pitts Minnemann Project has put out a new release through CD Baby!

We commend your impeccable musical taste and wanted to let you know that Pitts Minnemann Project has a brand new release out now. It just went live on our website for sale. And we just had to let you know FIRST since you're one of the few hip and wise people who "knew them way back when."

It is called The Psychic Planetarium.

Pitts Minnemann Project came into existence when keyboardist Jimmy Pitts (The Fractured Dimension, Scholomance, Spastic Ink) contacted German drumming phenomenon Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson, The Aristocrats, Joe Satriani) to inquire about the groundbreaking Normalizer 2 series - in which several progressive musicians were invited to compose original music to compliment the same 51 minute drum solo. Being a fan of not only Marco, but the other artists who presented their own versions of Normalizer 2, such as Alex Machacek, Mike Keneally, Trey Gunn, and Jason Sadites, Jimmy asked and received Marco's blessing to create what would become 2 L 8 2 B Normal. Unleashed in 2012, featuring Pitts' primary collaborators Fountainhead on fretless and fretted guitars and Jerry Twyford on bass, and augmented by a host of guest soloists including Ray Riendeau, Jeremy Barnes, Joe Deninzon, amongst others, 2 L 8 2 B Normal was well-received by critics and fans alike, even garnering the accolade of Album of the Year from India's Metal Wani 'zine. The success of the first record made the decision to record a follow-up album an easy one. This time based upon multiple drum solo performances by Marco, the second album by Pitts Minnemann Project is now presented by a more focused, four piece ensemble of Jimmy Pitts, Marco Minnemann, Fountainhead (ex Obscura), and Jerry Twyford. This new creation presents an even more intense instrumental tour-de-force sure to please fans of progressive rock and metal, as well as lovers of jazz fusion and the avant garde. The Psychic Planetarium is an album where one can be whisked from 70's inspired fusion passages, to blast beats, to reggae, all wrapped up in an album which is progressive in substance above merely style.

About "The Radial Covenant"

Obscura

I decided to set up a crowdfunding campaign, because I want to have full artistic freedom for this project. Producing a professional metal album takes a lot of time, dedication and of course money. In days of constantly declining record sales, most record labels won't take the risk to finance your album and cover all the expenses necessary to get the best possible result if there's not a big name on the cover. My bands might be popular...as an individual I am not.
I want to deliver the best possible sound quality, have the best production possible for my songs and also have a great artwork in order to give my music a visional counterpart. If you agree with that, please help me to make this album happen!

What I Need & What You Get

The money will be used to produce the album and the t-shirts. There will be no personal enrichment with funds collected!

You'll get my best 45 minutes of progressive death metal OBSCURA style songs so far, including me playing drums and guitar. Here you get an idea of how it sounds:  http://igg.me/at/hannesgrossmann/x/28005

Fountainhead: Fear Is The Enemy
Ok people, here it is: my new solo record. This EP has been both the most difficult and most rewarding thing I´ve ever done in my career and I´m so proud and excited to share this with all of you. You may name your own price, if you type in "0" you simply have to type in your email adresse to receive the download (which includes the full artwork and the official video). But please consider that this record took years to make and has cost a four-digit amount of money. So if you like the music and want to hear more of it (after all, 3 more EPs are ready to be recorded soon) the artist needs to have your support to make more it. Thank you, now I hope you´ll enjoy the record. If you do, plz share this on FB or elsewhere. Sincerly, Tom a.k.a. Fountainhead. Fountainhead: Fear Is The Enemy

Fountainhead: Fear Is The Enemy EP announced

Fountainhead is the alter ego of multiinstrumentalist / composer / producer Tom Geldschläger, born 06.03.1984 in Greifswald, Germany. An acclaimed guitar virtuoso, teen-prodigy (Fountainhead wrote, recorded and produced his solo-debut "Nostalgia" at the age of 18) and in-demand producer, Tom has worked with hundreds of different  artists in nearly every genre imaginable. Jeremy Barnes, Pete Pachio,Fountainhead,Ray Riendeau: The Pitts Minnemann Project - 2 L 8 2 B Normal

Pitts Minnemann Project

Jimmy Pitts, Marco Minnemann, and a gang of monster players laying down some serious Fusion/Prog!

Album Notes
Jimmy Pitts began his progressive journey as keyboardist/composer with the avant-garde metal band Scholomance on The End Records in the early 1990's. Since then he has performed a diverse array of music, from jazz festivals with the Mikhal Caldwell group, to performing on cds ranging from obscure Classical, soundtrack, and world music, to the frenetic metal intensity of Ron Jarzombek's Spastic Ink. Along with his primary project The Fractured Dimension, Jimmy has worked with such acclaimed artists as Marcel Coenen (Sun Caged) and Alex Machacek. With a goal of constant musical curiosity and artistic growth, there were two projects with Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats) put into motion. One is an unreleased heavy fusion quartet with fretless guitar wizard Fountainhead and bassist Jerry Twyford. The other is Jimmy's own version of Normalizer 2, featuring a wealth of virtuoso guitarists and bassists, a saxophonist, a violinist, and of course, bombastic keyboards and drums. This addition to the Normalizer 2 family is entitled Pitts Minnemann Project - 2 L 8 2 B Normal and is based on various mood swings over the course of its composition and thus reflects a broad range of musical styles.

Guests:
Guitarists Fountainhead, Jeremy Barnes, Pete Pachio, Bill Bruce, Joe McCroskey
Bassists Ray Riendeau (Halford, James Labrie), Cheikh Ndoye, Jerry Twyford, Jeff Williams, Eddie Kohen
Saxophonist Joshua Thomson
Violinist Joe Deninzon (Stratospherius)
