I know Jack Gardiner for many years. Already in the first contests (10 years ago) I noticed him as an overwhelming talent. Today he is one of my favourite guitarists. Stunning technique and fantastic phrasing. And now he has made a killer album with wonderful songs. Listen to his album "Escapades" or better: Buy It!
I could not resist and had to enter this contest.
It was so inspiring the last 2 weeks just listening to his music, trying to practice his fantastic licks and phrasing and finally playing a solo over the great song "Lark Lane".
For me it was a lot of fun

Frank Steffen Mueller: Gravity Guitar Picks "The Edge"

Polished vs. Master Finish:
The bevels on each pick are shaped on a grinding wheel which creates rough bevels. Those bevels are then polished or left unpolished (which we call 'Master Finish'). The Polished version glides across the strings with very little effort. The Master Finish (unpolished) version is a bit brighter and creates a different release off the string. It allows you to 'dig in' a bit more. You get that dirty „scratchy“ sound. It is just a personal preference.
Using the Shoulder of you pick:
The Edge has a 60 degree bevel, which is noticeably sharper. You can use the round "shoulders" of the pick as well. It gives a fatter & warmer tone with a lot of bottom end.

Frank Steffen Mueller: Fractal Audio Axe-Fx "Holdsworth Swell Patch" | EV-1 Expression/Volume Pedal

Hey guys, today I´ve got my new EV-1 Expression/Volume Pedal from Fractal Audio Systems/G66. I tried it in front of my amp, as an Expression Pedal for my Axe and as a Volume Pedal between my guitar and the Axe (video). The EV-1 has a fantastic quality and works perfect. I decided to do a short video of some nice Swell Sounds. Years ago I heard a lot music by the master Mr. Allan Holdsworth. His musicality is overwhelming. I love his playing so much...all is pure melodic to me. However...I tried to play some "Holdsworthian Chords"..and I hope you like it. Playing with the Volume pedal is really fun. I played a Custom Shop Siggi Braun 20th Anniversary „Little Crow“ guitar. This guitar is nothing less than "killer". It looks gorgeous and sounds awesome. I used a Humbucker Split sound and the Piezo. I love it!

Fractal Audio Axe-Fx "Holdsworth Swell Patch" | EV-1 Expression/Volume Pedal

Hey guys, I´ve tried to "re-program" the famous Eventide "Crystal sound“ with my Fractal Audio Axe-Fx II XL. All I can say is, that I´m pretty close and the Axe-Fx is an absolutely incredible piece of gear. In this vid, I just did some noodling with my "Epic Crystal patch“…and yes…I played really LOUD! I used a Custom made Auto Wah, called "The Wah Of Love“ in front of my Axe. This is a real vintage Germanium Auto-Wah made by SviSound. This pedal is just amazing. It´s a sort of vocalizer to me. The lead sound is smooth, warm, dynamic and very „vocalesque“ singing. I love it. This pedal is always on my pedalboard because it´s a „Must Have“. I used the fantastic GEC8Live of Moen Fx as my pedal&amp switcher. It´s a perfect piece of gear and I can switch all my pedals/pedalcombination/amp/midi so smooth. I played a Custom Shop Siggi Braun Fine Young Guitars 20th Anniversary „Little Crow“ guitar. This guitar is nothing less than "killer". It looks gorgeous an sounds awesome. I love it! In this video I´ve played a "Sunrise Big Mini 3mm" Gravity Pick. This pick is absolutely fantastic. Everything sounds better with it… I love Gravity Picks and I´m happy to be a Gravity artist! For all my guitars I use the best straps you can get for money - Richter Straps!
I´m a happy man. I have the opportunity to play the best gear in the world. I wanna say a big "Thank You“ to all the companies for their fantastic support.
