Kee Marcello is one of the most renowned guitarists out of Scandinavia with an amazing track record. He's best known as the guitarist of the biggest rock exports out of Sweden to date, Europe. In the late '80s and early '90s Europe were one of the biggest rock bands in the World. They sold over 30 million albums.

Kee Marcello is a unique artist in the Hard Rock genre. He has never stopped evolving and growing as both a writer and a guitarist and the new album shows how much he managed to raise the bar yet again with both his guitar playing, singing and writing.

With the new album Scaling up, set to release October 14th 2016 via Frontiers Records, Kee Marcello is using his past as a springboard and takes a giant leap into the future! With the new music firmly grounded in the songwriting tradition that made him a multiplatinum rock star in the first place, Kee explores the boundaries of Melodic Hard Rock with contemporary performance and a cracking production.

Finally, the documentary AXEMEN OF SWEDEN is out and about, and for a minor service charge it will be made available for your viewing and hearing pleasure! Basically it features me and a bunch of my heroes in personal and upclose interviews and off-the-cuff jams, it's pretty sweet really!

Please support this and help the filmmakers earn back a little of their expenses - they funded this out of their own pockets as a labor of love, and word on the street is that if they have some success with this documentary, chances are there will be a follow-up featuring more Swedish axemen!

John Norum, Kee Marcello: Europe's Exclusive Auction of 10 Special Edition Airbrushed Guitars Proceeds for charity in the Philippines

On Sunday December 15, 2013 one of Sweden’s most successful rock groups of all time, EUROPE, will celebrate their 30th Anniversary  with an exclusive auction of ten customised guitars based on ten of their albums.  Proceeds from the sale of the Final Countdown guitar will help charity in the Philippines.

Stockholms Auktionsverk has been accorded the honour of auctioning off ten uniquely airbrushed Gibson/Epiphone guitars personally autographed by all band members, including previous Europe band members Kee Marcello (guitar) and Tony Reno (drums).

Viewing on premises in Magasin 5 (Palermogatan 21-23) Stockholm, as well as online - 28 November – 15 December 2013. Open Monday-Friday 1-5 pm (CET) and Saturday 11am-4pm (CET).

The guitars have been airbrushed by Lazy Joe, and include exclusive adaptations of the artwork from Europe's following albums – Europe (1983), Wings Of Tomorrow (1984), The Final Countdown (1986), Out Of This World (1988), Prisoners In Paradise (1991), Start From The Dark (2004), Secret Society (2006), Almost Unplugged (2008), Last Look At Eden (2009), and Bag of Bones (2012).

Only ten guitars have been especially customized for this once-in-a-lifetime auction to celebrate Europe’s 30 Anniversary in the music business. “We wanted to create something really special to mark our 30th anniversary,” says Europe’s drummer, Ian Haugland.


The proceeds from the sale of the Final Countdown guitar will go to the charity Medicins Sans Frontiers / Läkare utan gränser. “We think they are doing very important and inspiring work giving medical aid in emergency areas around the world, including the charity work in the Philippines,” says Europe’s bass guitarist John Leven.

In 2013, Europe has toured extensively throughout Germany, Spain, Turkey, Japan and Mexico. They conclude their world tour on 14th December in Sandviken, Sweden.
“We believe this is something a Europe fan, a lover of guitars and art would appreciate,” says lead singer, Joey Tempest.

Kee Marcello: new album details announced

Kee Marcello will release his new albumentitled "Judas Kiss" on April 5. The CD features a duet with Akane Liv of the Japanese symphonic metal act LIV MOON in the song "And Forever More".

Has Kee Marcello played with Robert Marcello and after his solo work with Joey Tafolla did Kee ever contemplate making a solo guitar record?

Hey Laurie,

Of course - Robert is my brother! Lots of times - but it just never happened. I was offered a solo deal by Don Grierson of EPIC USA back in the days, but Joey and our manager back then, Thomas Erdtmann, threatened to give me the sack from the band if I did. I guess Joey didn' want to lose any attention from his ego - which was bigger than the Andromeda galaxy back then!

I was also part of a project called "Epic Guitars" - a collaboration of some of the big names on EPIC. It was Me, Jeff Beck, Neal Schon, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Vernon Reid. Not bad, ey?!

Unfortunately the project died together with Stevie in that helicopter crash. RIP Stevie.
