Raoul Tchoï: Northlaney

Northlane inspired jam
"Obsidian"'s such an incredible record 🤯

Fat kick and bouncy riffs. What's not to love? Being able to mic a real cab is a game-changer for me, so much more fun to play!

🎸 Harley Benton CST24 kit w/ Gorilla swinger/pioneer set
📻 Plumes - Laney IRT - Hesu 2x12 (top speaker, edge, Røde M2)

Raoul Tchoï : Grebfruit Punch

Getgood Drums and Benny Greb have blessed us with a new drum library! From the fattest tom in the universe all the way to jazz land, I've finally found the tool to bridge the gap between the different genres I like to fuse together 👨🏻‍🎨 My gear: https://thmn.to/thocf/6p4y8u43ti

Raoul Tchoï: brother's updated prototype model 1

Channeling my inner Nuno with my brother's updated prototype model 1 tuned to C# standard using a custom Horizon Devices strings set (11-54) 🕺🏼

Yay, new studio 🤓
It's the beginning of a new chapter for me: I'm officially no longer a bedroom musician. It feels weird having a room dedicated to creation and definitely speeds up the process not having to pile boxes to hold my camera in place... plus look at my new led spotlights. So much color, so much pro.
Thank you all so much for the love and support, I'm the happiest guy in the world!

Raoul Tchoï: Le Mayer Dresser + Funky Djent 2 - tasty playing

I've been experimenting with this rawer format leaving the lead out to record the first few takes with the camera rolling.
I usually record audio and video together for the 1-min IG content but I write stuff then practice it until I'm comfortable. Trying to come up with a nice flow on the spot adds a whole different kind of pressure (hence the serious face), it's punishing and I love it!
Here's take 2 ✌

Raoul Tchoï: Meshuggish

I'm so excited for the new Meshuggah record 🤩
"Destroy Erase Improve" is my favorite metal album ever and, to me, Meshuggah is one of the rare bands out there who have pushed musical explorations so far that they reign unchallenged in their lane.
Triumphant fist in the air playing zeroes towards the end. I'm a dork.

Raoul Tchoï: Transcribing and performing Tom Quayle

Heard this piece by @tomquayleguitar two days ago and *had* to transcribe it. It's deceivingly difficul: being used to short deadlines I prefer to transcribe by ear to find fingerings that quickly work for me while preserving as much of the articulations. As an alternate picker, some of those precise 16th legato runs had me in a pickle.
I don't capture DIs or edit my takes for these short videos so here's the least sloppy take I was able to perform.

Raoul Tchoï: Fake Baritone Funk

Some quasi-baritone action using a 26.5" Ibanez in B, inspired by el maestro Mark Lettieri's jams. Thick dry drums using @getgooddrums OKW: Architects! First video of a series based on your suggestions, thank you Mahmoud Kharfi!
