Scott Stine: VALKYRIE on Robbs MetalWorks 2020

Whenever possible I've always taken every opportunity to champion the San Antonio 80's metal scene, as was evident by last Summer's triumphant event, 'Return To The Metal Capital'. And, as with all scenes in all era's there is the first wave that hits (with bands like Watchtower, Militia & Helstar), but also that 2nd round of bands which come on in, add more depth & continue to carry the torch. Metal warlords, SA Valkyrie is one of those bands! 30 years later the band has reunited after a short lived stint beginnig in 1985 & have just released a NEW recording of their classic, progressive-thrash demo, 'Choosers of the Slain'. So when original members vocalist, Joe Gregory & guitarist, Scott Stine were ready to sit down & share all the good news I was fortunate enough to have them in the RMW Studio to do so. This interview which took place on February 7th, 2020 begins by reminiscing about the 80's SA scene & how Valkyrie adjusted to the ropes with the help of some of the aforementioned bands to also include Wyzard & Rotting Corpse. In addtion, Joe & Scott share about re-recording their demo, why the return after so many years, NEW music, playing live & what the plans are for 2020. Hope all of my ol'school rockers out there dig this one! Enjoy! ~ El Mero Metal

Scott Stine: added to the Swiss Picks Endorsed Artists
Endorsement NEWS !! Very happy to welcome Shrapnel recording artist, Scott Stine to the Swiss Picks crew !! His Shrapnel release 'Broke' had us scratching our heads in amazement at his flawless fluidity and record breaking runs. On top of that, Scott's phrasing is top notch and can bend with the best of them! Scott's been digging our Jazz Mini 1.30 as does his virtuoso brother, Brett Stine. — with Scottt Stine, Ibanez Guitars and Shrapnel Records.

Here's our cover of Swedish guitar legend Yngwie Malmsteen's Trilogy Suite. (Scott Stine on electric guitar, Jeff Aslesen on drums.) We set the metronome to 210 and then had some fun!
Shred Electric Violin and Guitar cover: Yngwie Malmsteen's Trilogy Suite Op. 5
Had a great time adding drums to our mix on this song! We didn't use any sheet music; just worked on it by ear. Tuning for the guitar is DADGAD. Many thanks to Scott Stine for playing guitar as well as recording/editing the video, and to our awesome drummer Jeff Aslesen for filling out our sound. I also did not use the wah pedal for this version so it's a bit cleaner- hope you enjoy!

This is the first portion of a 60 minute guitar clinic Hajis Kitchen guitarists, Scott Stine and Eddie Head did promoting the then new line of Ibanez 7 String guitars. This was around 1996 I think at the Guitar Center in Dallas Texas
Unfortunately the DVD I have this on is scratched and this was the only part I could salvage. Hopefully I can get it repaired and upload the rest.
They demonstrate various styles of music that can be played on the 7 string, from Shred, metal, Country to Jazz.
Andy Timmons was also in attendance of who they make reference before doing the Jazz example.
