Paco Hernandez: returns in a blaze of glory!

This guys is an ultimate shredder, I've been listening to mp3 demo's while he's been studying like crazy. So for me it is a real joy to see a new video and what a cracker it is too... top notch playing through out!

Paco Hernandez:
Holy crap...a new video in more than a year. I´ll be brief: After two years of continued and restless study, I´ve had more than enough of them for now; it´s time to kick some shreddin´ ass!!!

This is my latest composition, and this one goes dedicated to (and inspired by) Tony Macalpine, one of my favourite musicians and main influences. Thanks Tony, you are the best!! :-)

Great to see people testing out their compositional skills in a live environment. This really is the next step. Original songs and material that not only display your soloing prowess, but also your compositional ability. It won't surprise me when we start seeing more and more hi production value material delivered in this way, particularly if the concept of google TV takes off.

Trev from DoFret posts:
Q: What's the difference between a jazz guitarist and a large cheese pizza?
A: A large cheese pizza can feed a family of 4!

Dave10 responds:
C, E-flat and G go into a bar. The bartender says, "sorry,
but we don't serve minors." So E-flat leaves, and C and G
have an open fifth between them. After a few drinks, the
fifth is diminished and G is out flat. F comes in and tries
to augment the situation, but is not sharp enough.

D comes in and heads for the bathroom saying, "Excuse me.
I'll just be a second." Then A comes in, but the bartender
is not convinced that this relative of C is not a minor.
Then the bartender notices B-flat hiding at the end of the
bar and says, "Get out! You're the seventh minor I've found
in this bar tonight."

E-Flat comes back the next night in a three-piece suit with
nicely shined shoes. The bartender says, "you're looking
sharp tonight. Come on in, this could be a major
development." Sure enough, E-flat soon takes off his suit
and everything else, and is au natural.

Eventually C sobers up and realizes in horror that he's
under a rest. C is brought to trial, found guilty of
contributing to the diminution of a minor, and is sentenced
to 10 years of D.S. without Coda at an upscale correctional
facility.

Roy Fulton: DoFret Blue interview

Q: What's the secret to playing blues with conviction?

A: All of the great players that I grew up listening to and continue to admire have one thing in common. FEEL!! When they play, they touch the heart, body and soul in some way. They make you feel good, happy, exhilarated and it’s definitely more than just the notes. It’s a feeling! It’s the tone, intensity and the belief in the music and the 100% delivery of ‘the note’ at that very moment. I try to play with feeling and connect with the music. It’s not so much as: think of the notes and try to play clever licks – it’s more like: let your emotions come through in the playing. You just have to listen to Roy Buchanan’s ‘Rescue Me’ to hear what I mean. When that searing, biting Telecaster of his kicks in, it just gets me every time!
