My new original acoustic instrumental song, in a specific style, which I didn't play for a long time, but these musical motives came to me recently, and I just couldn't get rid of them :) So, I guess everything comes with a reason, so as this song.
Anyway, the animation used in background is from beautifull short animated film ''Invention of Love'' 2010 - Graduation project, which is written & Directed by Andrey Shushkov. I don't own the copyright for this animated video, or any part of it.
Richard Peikoff represents a truly unique voice on the guitar. His delicate and precise fingerstyle and slide
technique creates a sound that is at once hauntingly beautiful, contemplative and uplifting.
Throughout his musical life he has studied and collaborated with great musicians from all over the world, and his music is as textured and varied as the locations and people that have inspired it.
Richard’s teachers and collaborators include fingerstyle great Martin Simpson and renowned American guitarist Isaac Guillory, both of whom he met while living in London. During that time he also studied with Indian Sarod teacher Ratnakar Vyas. This was not his first exposure to Indian classical music however. Sitarist Hari Har Rao (an early student of Ravi Shankar and founder of the Ravi Shankar Music Circle), and 5 time Grammy nominated sarod virtuoso Ali Akbar Khan were teachers who would also have a profound influence on his slide guitar style. Other influences include John Fahey, The Beatles, Jerry Douglas, Ram Narayan, John McLaughlin, Ralph Towner, and Earl Scruggs.
Drawing upon his extensive knowledge of the musical traditions of both east and west, Richard Peikoff has created an expansive musical space in which to immerse ourselves.

There's nothing better than playing a peaceful improvisation during a time of reflection and absorbing life as is. I know I haven't played too much electric lately with the new acoustic guitar CD out now but I'm glad to be hitting it again with raw emotions and of course being free of any kind of stress. This is my goal in life, express what can't be through music.
My favorite part of this improvisation is at 0:04 - 0:58
Ever since I got my first guitar and sat with it for the first time in 2001, I improvised. I have been improvising and letting myself loose since then and thought this may be a cool new series to show you all not only my compositions but my present feelings as I improvise. Hope you can feel what I was trying to say with these.
Video recorded on an iPhone 4s and played on a Cole Clark Culprit I electric guitar.
