Adam Antium: Licentia release update

Licentia Release – May 30th

So what has been going on with me the last few years? My internet presence hasn’t really been something I’ve been paying much attention to, I suppose. That being said, I have been very active locally here in the Pacific Northwest, and really learned a lot. Additionally, I’ve been through a myriad number of musical and career-based challenges over the previous couple of years.

But here I am – I have returned with a vengeance, and boy do I have a mountain of content for everyone.

To begin with, my first solo album as the artist “Adam Antium” is coming out this month. I wanted to share some content from that with everyone, so let’s start with that.

Here are the first two tracks – “Fourteen” and “Anything True” – from the album “Licentia”, due out on Friday the 30th of May, 2014.

Mick Murphy: The Birds of Satan rock Jimmy Kimmel

The Birds of Satan rock Jimmy Kimmel Live - Television debut for Mick Murphy and his signature GJ2 =MM= Guitar

Hollywood, CA — The Birds of Satan landed on Jimmy Kimmel Live for their network television debut Wednesday night on ABC and rocked the house with two new songs from their debut album.

Watch The Birds of Satan on Jimmy Kimmel Live here:
“Thanks For The Line”
“Pieces of the Puzzle”

Led by Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, the Birds of Satan came about through another side project of his, 70s “dirt rock” cover band Chevy Metal, with guitarist Mick Murphy and bassist Wiley Hodgden. The same lineup recorded seven songs of their own original material, along with a little help from their friends, in less than a week as The Birds of Satan. Their self-titled debut album was released in April on Shanabelle Records.

Mick took advantage of the television opportunity to show off the Satin Camo version of his new guitar, the “Triple M” (aka Mick Murphy Model). GJ2 Guitars is proud to have Mick playing and recording with his own signature GJ2 model, first unveiled at NAMM in January. Specially made by Grover Jackson for the “Master of Heaviosity” and bearing a likeness of his trademark =MM= signature, the new GJ2 Concorde “Triple M” features two Habanero humbuckers with a hard-tail bridge, making it ideal for high-octane, tuned-down riffing. The design traces its roots to the original collaboration between Grover Jackson and Randy Rhoads (that evolved into the GJ2Concorde), which first inspired Mick Murphy to take up the guitar.

The Birds of Satan and Chevy Metal are just two of Mick’s most recent projects. His first love is the D.I.Y. heavy rock band, My Ruin, fronted by Mick’s wife, vocalist Tairrie B Murphy. My Ruin and Chevy Metal/Birds of Satan will both be playing shows in the near future. After hitting Hollywood and Las Vegas in June and July respectively, My Ruin will barnstorm the United Kingdom in August.

Daniel Trejo,Jessie Santos: Shattered Sun West Hollywood, CA @ The Whiskey A Go Go Jack Lue Series

Shattered Sun has been gradually compiling the line-up needed to surpass the surface that defines today’s genre of metal. The core formation began with the three members who shared common history and contributions to the live music scene in their hometown.

Guitarist, Daniel Trejo and drummer, Robert Garza bring song structure and arrangement to the basis of Shattered Sun’s sound, while lead vocalist, Marcos Leal is responsible for the song hooks you can’t ignore.

Shattered Sun began moving forward by incorporating bassist, Joseph Guajardo to complete the rhythm section and keyboardist, Henry Garza to develop a more signature sound. The line-up was finalized with lead guitarist, Jessie Santos to fulfill their desired melodic, yet heavy sound. In 2011,

Shattered Sun went in to record their first EP “Confessions” with producer, Robert Beltran at Precision Studio, LLC in Corpus Christi, TX. Shattered Sun followed the recording with heavy support by joining national tours, along with their own, to bring recognition to the EP, as well as their name. Currently,

Shattered Sun has returned to Precision Studio to record their debut full length album, “Hope Within Hatred".

Marcos Leal - Vocals
Daniel Trejo - Guitar
Jessie Santos - Guitar
Joseph Guajardo - Bass
Robert Garza - Drums
Henry Garza - Keys/Samples

Slash, Lemmy Kilmister: Motorhead @ Club Nokia on 04-11-14 - Jack Lue Series

Motörhead /ˈmtərhɛd/ are an English rock band formed in June 1975 by bassist, singer and songwriter Ian Fraser Kilmister, professionally known by his stage name Lemmy, who has remained the sole constant member. The band are often considered a precursor to, or one of the earliest members of, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which re-energised heavy metal in the late 1970s and early 1980s.[1]

As of November 2013, Motörhead have released twenty-one studio albums, ten live recordings, twelve compilation albums and five EPs. Usually a power trio, they had particular success in the early 1980s with several successful singles in the UK Top 40 chart. The albums Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, and particularly No Sleep 'til Hammersmith, cemented Motörhead's reputation as a top-tier rock band.[2] As of 2012, Motörhead have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.

Motörhead are typically classified as heavy metal, and their fusion of punk rock into the genre helped to pioneer speed metal and thrash metal.[3] Their lyrics typically cover such topics as war, good versus evil, abuse of power, promiscuous sex, substance abuse, and, most famously, gambling. The name "Motörhead" is a reference to users of the drug amphetamine.[4]

The band's distinctive fanged-face logo, with its oversized boar's tusks, chains, and spikes, was created by artist Joe Petagno in 1977 for the cover of the Motörhead album and has appeared in many variations on covers of ensuing albums. The fanged face has been referred to variously as "War-Pig"[5] and "Snaggletooth".[6] The band is ranked number 26 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.[7]
