Adam Ironside: Just Like The Detective

JUST LIKE THE DETECTIVE

This album is the accumulation of about two years of work. Written throughout 2009 and recorded in 2010 this album incorporates a lot of different styles and draws influence from a variety of different people and places.

All being well it is set for an October 2010 release.

I hope you enjoy Just Like The Detective.

1 - IN LOVING MEMORY

This is dedicated to every good person that ever died. May they rest in peace.

2 - SOMEWHERE IN TIME

Definitely the George Bellas influence in me coming out I think. This track has
changed quite a lot over the past few months and draws on a lot of my film composer influences as well as prog rock and metal bands that I have come to like over the years.

3 - FIRST TIME FLYER

This draws from my Prog and 80's rock influences and is designed to depict the story of a new born bird leaving the nest for the first time, and not quite managing to fly.

4 - UNDER NO ILLUSION

This is quite a Satch inspired track. Just a simple love ballad really but with a few

twists and turns.

5 - THAT WAS YESTERDAY

This was one of the first tracks I wrote for the album and most of you will have
already heard this on my youtube channel. Basically just some music I wrote after a nice day with someone special.

6 - JUST LIKE THE DETECTIVE

The title track. For some reason I just thought of a ballsy 'Bad Horsie' type feel, and this is what it became. Just an honest rocking!

7 - THE GREAT SPACE RACE

Imagine a drag race in space? That would be awesome! Again this draws influence from some film and classical composers.

8 - THE DEVIL'S SECRET MACHINE

Not too unlike The Great Space Race, this one against draws influence from film composition and also from Alan Williamson's great Across Angry Skies record.

9 - DYING TO MEET YOU

I wrote this track for Jason Becker and tried to capture some of his style and blend it with my own. Not sure it worked, but it created something I am quite proud of.

10 - EVIL CLOWN COLLEGE

An inside joke and a good fun track to finish the album on :)
